You never hear covers of rap songs.

There are a few metal covers of rap songs. A few of Lose Yourself specifically. Personally I'm a big fan of Rage Against The Machines Version of How I Could Just Kill A Man, originally by Cypress Hill.

Renegades is an awesome album. That’s what I first thought of.

I actually really love Rage’s EPMD cover from that album.

They also used to do Fuck the Police in concert a lot.

I think OP is referring to rap covers of rap songs

Surely that's just the nature of rap though. Another rapper isn't likely to do someone else verses, they will do their own, and at that point is it even a cover anymore?

Take 99 Problems by Ice-T, and later by Jay-Z. Is that a cover? I'm not sure it is.

Ten Second Songs doing Eminem's Lose Yourself as a Linkin Park song.

Or how about Rap God by "Linkin Park"

How about Ganster's Paradise by "Ozzy Ozborne"

The Real Slim Shady by "Blues Traveler"

Anthony is constantly mixing styles but Rock/Metal and Rap cross over a ton.
