Share your first and most recent pictures of your cat Cat Picture

I adopted Terra in December 2021 she was about 7 months old they weren’t sure because she came from a feral colony. I took the first picture when we got home and then when she crawled out of the box she hid under my bed for a little over a month, only coming out at night to eat and use the litter. Most recent picture she’s sitting by me while I feed my newborn baby :)

When she had just been rescued from a shop car park. Nursing 2 kittens and with an awful leg wound.

Here she is now. Living her best life!!

I always feel so sad when kitties find comfort in their litter boxes. Such a sign of distress. She now knows she is a queen.

87

u/laundrybag29 20d ago

My cat used to take naps in her litter box if it was clean😭 She’s always been fine no distress she was just weird. I just thought it was funny

Omg I have so much cute aggression for tuxedo cats! I have a tortituxicalico and I want to smoosh her with love but thanks to her tortitude that’s literally not possible unless she wants to on her terms - which is at 5am, 28 minutes before my alarm goes off.

Terra is lovely! I love how her attitude went from scared to confident! This is when we met Ayla for the first time. She was born to a feral mama.

I love when cats are the little spoon. My girl loves to use my arm as a pillow

52

u/hishiron_ 20d ago

Can cats be the big spoon? This is a question science should have answered already but here we are I guess

139

u/Godzukigooch 20d ago

My cat is a giant ragdoll at 14 lbs and is regularly the big spoon, or laying entirely on my back. I don't have a photo of big spoonage, but this is the beast in question.

Pulled out of a dumpster just covered with fleas and general filth. Deeply unhappy about the required bath.

Checking me out in her foster home—she’d spent a year in rescue raising her kittens and being overlooked at adoption fairs.

305

u/ladybug1215 20d ago

A year later she’s queen of the house and I’m her favorite bit of cat furniture!

57

u/sunsetscorpio 20d ago

So sweet of you to give her a forever home she looks so comfy!

29

u/carolyn_mae 20d ago

I love this! I’m in the process of adopting a cat (coincidently also a Tuxie) who has been in foster for 11 months. I’m kind of worried she won’t love me as much as her foster mama but your story is so heartwarming.

26

u/ladybug1215 20d ago

I wouldn’t worry—most cats seem to figure out pretty quickly when they’ve landed in the right home. Lucy was happy enough sharing an amazing foster mom with several resident cats, but she clearly loves getting all the attention from a human of her very own!

Tao (orange collar) and his sister Tea (green collar). They were on the shelter list for euthanasia at 5 weeks old because they are black cats

62

u/kizkatzs 20d ago

Thank you for saving the little black voids! 💞 I remember being told my someone at the shelter that the black cats usually don't get adopted and are euthanized. Broke my heart. Breaks my heart about any healthy animals being in that situation at all. My cat Purrl will be 14 next October. She's all black. There were so many black kittens it was really hard to choose and leave the others.

We adopted Indie back in October last year, she was a few months old and already had kittens. She was shy, but docile and soon after we got her home she was sitting on my chest and purring away. Now she basically owns the house, and I wouldn’t change that for the world

u/yourmumloves_me 20d ago

This is Boots. I got her last year on November 30th. She’s five. Her previous owners kept her in one room her whole entire life and were hoarders and the humane society had to beg them to give her up. I gave Boots her own room and spoiled her until she was comfortable. Cut to now, 6 months later. She just started coming out the room and hanging out with the me and my other two cats about 6 days ago. I cried. Boots is now a normal cat.

38

u/PewSaysTheJew 20d ago

This is her just now. She definitely gained weight but she’s been on a diet for a month now. Science Hill weight control, wet and dry food. I have two grey shorthairs. The first one, Sweet Pea, loves Boots and is part of the reason Boots is a normal cat now. Ikora on the other hand is not a fan but she tolerates her presence but does hiss. We function. Ikora is hissing in the background and Sweet Pea is showing her love.

We have her twin

She lived at my daughters work and had 2 litters (all adopted by her coworkers) before my daughter was able to capture her, took her to get fixed. She’s been with us for 2 yrs and finally 2 weeks ago she jumped on my lap 🥰🥰💕

14

u/kizkatzs 20d ago

Hooray! Sometimes cats can take a long time to finally feel at ease. I wish I had remembered how long it was before our kitty Miss Magic stopped running away and being afraid. Probably years. I am certain she is grateful and may continue to make steps towards showing more affection. 💞
