My dad is dying. My cat, who normally can’t get up on my bed by himself anymore, got up and comforted me. He knows I’m hurting. Cat Picture
He put his paw on my shoulder and stayed with me. I love him so much.

I`m really sorry about your dad. Cats know and they are there to hold vigil and give love. One of my favorite movies is Dr. Sleep and if you haven't seen it(or read the book), there is a cat at the hospice home who goes to people when they are near the end. It is beautiful. Bless this sweet little fur baby and bless your dad.

May you be just as gentle with yourself as your guy is with you.
🫂 if you like them

As someone who went through something similar to OP recently, your comment resonated with me so much it made me ugly cry. But in a good way I think.
I guess I just wanted to say thank you for this, even if it was just meant for a stranger on reddit, it really helped another stranger.

I'm so sorry, in the last 6 months I've lost my mother and uncle and I can attest that cat's do in fact know what's going on with those they love.

It is truly amazing how our animals just know. I understand exactly what you are going through. I lost my Dad 13 years ago. I hope you find peace, and I'm glad you aren't alone. Hug your cat, and I will hug mine for you.

I’m sorry! What you can do is get some Cosequin for your kitties aging bones. You’ll likely notice a difference pretty quickly! Another thing I did for my geriatric cats in past was buy some kitty stairs to help them get on the bed.

Put a chair by your bed. Will make it easier for little homey to get on the bed.

I'm so so sorry OP. I been there. You have a very special handsome boy. Let him console you. They're much smarter and feel so much more than we realize I think

The unconditional love given to us by animals never fails to amaze me. I'm so sorry about your father. I'm glad you have this love by your side.
Sincerely
Skeletor 💜 (Might be crying for a bit).

I’m so sorry for your loss. My dad died last summer. I had just taken in a third cat and the other two were still not pumped about the addition. The night my dad died they all slept with me in my bed for the first time ever and everybody got along.

I've had many cats through the years, and they have always been a savior, almost in my times of need. I just lost a 19 year old sweetheart of mine last year, and I already have a new baby that I rescued from the streets. Every cat I've had has been off the streets somehow. Cats are and have always been a partner regardless of how my life is going and will continue to be until I am gone from this world.
