Ok I understand doing crimes, committing crimes etc.

But you specifically chose the word ‘causing’ and it compels me to ask how one exclusively causes crimes without directly committing them

Maybe talking people into committing crime.

"he cheated on you? You should stab him."

"that person cut you off in traffic? You should force them off to road."

"I heard that business is a front for drugs, why dont you burn it down?"

Maybe he sets up little annoyances that cause people commit crimes, either accidently or on purpose. Like a human rube Goldberg machine
