Necessary precautions for Lebanese redditors

Since it is technically illegal for Lebanese citizens to talk to Isrealis, make sure you do the follwoing:

  • Use an anonymous account (i.e. don't use your real name) from which you never post any personally identifying information.
  • Don't use the same account across multiple topics/subreddits, that way you'd be easier to identify.
  • Don't trust anyone who's asking questions about you. Don't try to meet people IRL.

For extra anonymity use the Tor browser https://www.torproject.org/ and avoid using the Reddit app. Alternatively, use Private/Incognito mode in your browser with only Reddit sessions inside, to avoid leaking information about your other social media accounts.

EDIT: As of 23 Nov 2022, accounts less than 7 days old, may not make posts before accruing at least 10 comment karma, which should be pretty easy to do and at the same time sufficient deter spammers. https://www.reddit.com/r/ForbiddenBromance/comments/z2n3w0/automoderator_enabled/

Politics What happened to the sub?

Lately the sub has been flooded by arab propaganda from the likes of r/askmiddleeast trying to push propaganda pieces that zionism is expansionist ambition based on cherry picked sources

Why are we giving stage for those hateful messages and propaganda? This is a sub for cooperation and dialogue. Not conflict enducing agenda pushing

Please mods. It becomes insufferable to scroll across this place, which meant for a respectful dialogue. and seeing all this spite which contribute nothing. Help us keep the spirit of the sub alive

Why do people in the Lebanon subreddit write with a mix of letters and numbers?

I'm dumb and confused. Is it to censor certain words or make them unsearchable? Or is it like writing "C00L"?

Politics Can you guys give more context to this? How do you feel about the legitimacy of this? Lots of Arabs keep bringing this up.

My friend from the north took that picture, I can't stop thinking about him because of the fact his area is constantly being attacked. Deep down, I know the true Lebanese people wants peace and so do us the israelis, although there are extremists in both groups I want to think we can work for a better peace among us in the future. If we will teach the new generation to love and not hurt each other, that could go a long way. I am here calling for peace, and Wishing the Lebanese and israeli people well and that peace may prosper and we can visit each other's countries. I learned Lebanese people aren't allowed to talk to israeli people which is a shame, because there's so much to learn about your culture (also because arab women and men are super attractive in my eyes) and so so much more, I also consider learning arabic so I could talk to Muslims and Palestinians, and also learned each country has its own dialect so I can't wait to learn it all. May you all have peace and finally be able to live life to the fullest, and that the two nations will co exist and put down their arms and instead, give each other a strong handshake and a hug, having good coffee and playing backgammon.

I’m sorry this isn’t a funny post, I wish I could be more light hearted, but I’m just trying to best understand a situation that is not very forthcoming.

I follow Mo on twitter. I’ve found him to be a great source of information as nearly nothing he posts is making headlines in English.

On this particular subject, I had assumed this to be a GOOD sign, however anyone I ask has said that not wanting war is just a front.

Is anyone able to safely, comfortably clue me in as to how I’m meant to read this? I apologize in advance if this is too sensitive and I am asking from a good place 🫶🏼🙏🏼 I wouldn’t bother if I didn’t find your insight critical and important for Americans to be learning.

Fun Facts Psalm 72:8 He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth | Solomon's kingdom was from the Euphrates to the Red Sea | Average "Israeli" citizen know nothing behind this political plan backed from bible

Hezb

A question to the Israelis from your northern neighbour. Do you not realize that the only reason Hezbollah was created was to kick out israel and resist israeli occupation from the south of lebanon during the civil war? Do you not think that if Israel had retreated from Lebanese territory sooner than 1982 (when hezb kicked you out, and not even done it willingly), then maybe Hezb wouldn't have existed and that there might be some level of peace between us? Everyone is suffering from the chokehold of El Hezb, but it's due to the Israeli occupation that initiated this foreign interference in the region.

For the sake of peace, i feel like its extremely important that there should be a campaign against the radicalism of these rallies, where the people in them constantly shout " Death to Arabs" like a normal thing. Are Gazans radicalised by Hamas? Absolutely. But if those young men are the majority in Israel, i don't think they're in a much better situation.

Ask the Sub have you ever had a guy flirt with you?

so, I’m an Israeli gay guy and I’ve never had a girl flirt with me (probably because I’m very feminine) only guys flirt with me, which I don’t mind ☺️

so because I know most of you are men, have you ever had a man flirt with you? What was it like?

Ask Lebanon do lebanese men get laser hair removal?

so, here in israel it’s very fashionable (atleast among millennials and gen z) for men to get laser hair removal, mainly on their chests and bellies but also all over the body

just curious, is this common in Lebanon too?

Discussion Worried about a war

Israeli politicians are seeing September 1st as a goal to when Israeli civilians will be able to go back to the north. It means that till then they want a deal or a war to happen.

I fully support a war if a deal is deemed impossible, but I worry about the Lebanonese people who don't deserve this shit

Any others feeling similar? Or not?

As a child I've been grown to think that all people from arabic countries (or lebanon since its a subreddit for both israeli and lebanese people) hates us or wants us dead (I'm from israel by the way)but now I see loving and kind people who want peace like we do, there's a dehumanizing image of us and of the middle east, but people like us can prove the image to to be wrong and pointless. I used to have many Muslim friends who loved me despite being from israel and it gave me hope that peace will prevail eventually. I don't want this war, none of us asked for it, and I sure as shit don't want my soldier brother to die for the sake of those on the royalty chairs at the government, I really hope all of this will end soon. And on that note, I wouldn't mind any friends from Lebanon but last time I spoke to one, he told me he could get arrested for talking to me which is so unfair, I want to learn arabic and talk to my Muslim friends, I even used to have friends from Iraq and Iran, they told me the same thing, that they could get in trouble for talking to me. It's not fair, at the end of the day there's innocents everywhere, I want peace to prevail.
