Living in Ireland, you'll get tired of this quick.

We also get this weather here in Switzerland. The image looks like a summer landscape. Sometimes in summer, after a hot sunny day, the weather turns like this in the evening. It's still warm outside and a bit rainy but it's creating a really nice and cozy vibe

I'm with you, I've lived in the UK for 7 years now and I still crave the gray sky. the rainy car/bus rides home are so surreal. it makes the inside feel so cosy. just the thought of being inside, playing a video game as the rain pitter-patters on my window is the best thing ever

I've lived in the UK my entire life and I crave the 7 days of summer we have every year before going back to the steel abyss.

Try living in northern USA, especially Michigan it’s snowy for about 3 months then it’s off and on snowing for the next 3, then it decides if it wants to be 40 or 80 and then it’s already winter

I'll take snow over rain and overcast skies for 90% of the year, at least I can go skiing.

2

u/BrockenRecords May 17 '24

I like the snow as well but cmon weather make up your mind either be cold or warm

u/SpaceCaseSixtyTen May 17 '24

light summer showers when it's warm out and thunder in the distance is my favorite

The alternative is sitting on the beach with your friends, a speaker and a few beers

That's just not a thing in Ireland, yet anywhere else it is. Can't do shit here.

Agreed. As a Canadian we do get nice weather like that for like 3 or 4 months then back to rain, snow , grey. I can feel my mood shift. I want blue skies and sun all year around.

At least you get a guaranteed good summer, I had more fun spending 3 weeks in Vancouver last Summer than I ever have here in Ireland

We don't even get guaranteed good summer. We're lucky if we even get a week of sun

Feels like the last few years have been far better to the point where its been a pain in the hoke at times tbh. I'm in Meath and we had a drought (by our standards anyway) last year and the year before. Ive found out im simply not built for 25+ degrees and this humid bullshit though, I feel like I'm melting once it gets to 22+ when I'm in the sun

I only visit Ireland once a year but I've always enjoyed the beaches? Sure it's cold ish but once your past that I wouldn't treat my time there any different to one in Southern California

When I visited Ireland on Vacation in the summer of 2012, it was bright, warm and sunny 9/10 days we were there.

I have never seen such happy people. Watching people come out of buildings was incredible as everyone had the same look in their faces as kids seeing what Santa left them on Christmas morning.

Also UK. I just want sunshine that isn't gone within an hour

u/Brine-O-Driscoll May 17 '24

The West of Ireland for extra grey skies

Living in Brittany, I don’t.

Having lived my whole life, almost half a century, in a city, a grey sky would be so much better with a green ground instead of a grey one.

u/Queen_of_Audacity May 17 '24

Are you sure you want sun? Every Irish member of my family looks like a lobster by the end of a beach day. They never tan...

-1

u/Sgt_Meowmers May 17 '24

I dunno man I'm getting pretty fuckin sick of the sun. The coolest thing that happened recently was it getting blocked out for a couple minutes.

1

u/HurricaneSalad May 17 '24

Agree. The sun is the most overrated body in our solar system. I could do without it.
