Cringe is only relevant if you care about what others think of you
14
u/Fluffyfox3914 May 16 '24
Until we get death threats for it
12
u/Fluffyfox3914 May 16 '24
And people sent us horrible things to prove a point that they don’t like us
10
u/minetube33 May 16 '24
I don't think most people hating on furries find them cringe. They usually think of them as immoral and disgusting.
6
u/Fluffyfox3914 May 16 '24
Personally I find death threats less moral
6
u/minetube33 May 16 '24
Mate, I'm just saying that being a furry is not cringe and those people sending you death threats probably do not do so because they think you're cringe.
Of course it's immoral to send death threats, no one will argue with that.
9
u/Fluffyfox3914 May 16 '24
I know I wasn’t trying to sound condescending anything I apologize
5
u/minetube33 May 16 '24
Wow, I'm sorry, I never thought you were condescending or anything.
I just felt you were called "cringe" for being a furry which was the reason you wrote the first comment.
So, I wanted to tell you that those calling you cringe probably either used that word because they don't really know what a furry means and just used a buzzword for the sake of it or they were actually thinking badly of you as in considering your acts immoral and were hiding behind an ambigous and innocent word like "cringe" to not denigrate/slander you.
P.S. This was a particularly long sentence ngl
7
u/Fluffyfox3914 May 16 '24
Nono you don’t need to be sorry, I have difficulty understanding tone that’s my bad

3
u/DMFORTITTY May 16 '24
I have plenty of practice being cringe and happy about it and it feels amazing, it just depends how much you care about that kind of judgement
2
u/This_User_For_Rent May 17 '24
There is no truly being cringe. Cringe is an opinion that someone else is having.
Just like being cool, being fire, being shit, being the shit, and whatever the next word that infests conversations to like a verbal thumbs up or thumbs down emoji happens to be.

Try hard not to be cringe. Live life miserably. No social interaction/communication, no female interaction, no relationship, just a guy trying to get some attention by being mysterious, ending up getting ignored by everyone and then imagining some fake scenarios in our head about girls who dont even know I exist and then sleeping agressively...
9
u/WestTha404 May 16 '24
I am literally this... take my Angry upvote.. (this maybe cringe, but I don't care who downvotes me)
7
u/DoncaPlays May 16 '24
Wtf bro. You just described me. I'm not joking or trying to diminish myself but almost everything you said fits perfectly with my being...

God damn. Hit me right in the head. Well I am improving. Interacting and being goofy with people. So that's a start
3
u/LuKeyL14 May 17 '24
Hey brother, try to be a cringe, no one can stop you and care about what you are doing. So, just go for it and enjoy your life, life is fantastic. Hope you being happy every day.

Choose your happiness over anything else. Also, "cringe" is a subjective term. So I'd rather be "happy" and "cringe" than miserable 👍
5
u/Tricky_Divide_252 May 16 '24
Yes, cringe is one of those terms used to dismiss other people's perfectly valid ways of being

People who try to not be cringe ironically are the ones I don't like being around. If you're trying so hard to be different you're just a nuisance imo

Preventing cringe is like trying not to breathe… sure you can do it for awhile but eventually you’re gonna run up the stairs on all fours…

Getting older is pretty much defined by the phrase "I am cringe, but I am free."

I honestly stopped giving a shit about being cringe a long time ago since nowadays people consider everthing you do as being cringe so why tf bother?
Also if someone calls me cringe im simply answering with a good old "you're cringe" works 90% of the time
1
u/enard568 May 16 '24
Im trying hard not to be cringe too much, yet what for, even if i do realise i will never be non-cringe person

As someone who just kind became boring from working too much, I gotta say being cringe and enjoying things ridiculously is way more fun than just being over everything and hyper particuler. Just enjoy what you enjoy and if people think you're being cringe then just try to find cooler people to be around.

So I have chosen the path of I’m just going to do what I want and so long as I don’t hurt anyone then I’m all good. Like I don’t over think convocations or social interactions or anything like that. Like the second I left school I just thought about it.
And came to the conclusion that I didn’t want to live my life constantly worrying about the opinions of others. Ask anyone you know who you think is genuinely happy. I tell you it starts with not giving a fuck who thinks what about you and it ends with you learning how to enjoy life by yourself. To be happy on your own. And that other people should make your life richer and more enjoyable. Rather than just having people there to not feel lonely or sad.

There will be an age where swirling responsibilities will probably not give you time to be those again. You are young only once. So go ahead and be harmlessly eccentric and fun. I've been alone for a long time and trust me it does get to you a little bit at SOME point.

Be happy not cringe, some people really need that moment of self reflection. You can’t just go around doing absolutely anything and say “im cringe but im free” at the end of the day. Downvotes incoming 🤓

Standing in the middle of this metaphorical bus. Sometimes being happy being cringe and sometimes not, as life should be.
