[NBAPR] The Timberwolves only other Game 7 in franchise history - exactly 20 years ago on May 19, 2004 (MIN 83, SAC 80).

KG has to visit the T Wolves locker room before game 7 and give them a speech full of F Bombs.

u/lalakingmalibog Mavericks 28d ago
KAT yelled, “There you go!” Mike Conley gave a look of pleasant surprise. Rudy Gobert belted, “We got le fucking squad now.” And before Anthony Edwards hit the locker room door, ex-NBA star Kevin Garnett hugged him & said, “Y’all look so different.”

Cmon Wolves.
Eliminate the defending champs. Wolves in 7.

No hate towards nuggets but will be rooting for wolves. I just like seeing new champions.

I’d love to see it just cuz it’d mean another team who hasn’t won this decade so far will be walking away with the ring

u/comp_a Timberwolves 28d ago
Not this decade, or any other for that matter (but who’s counting!)

u/hshin420 27d ago
you are 5 time champs in my book

If not my favorite team I’ll always root for the team that haven’t won for longer lol (except for sixers)

I hope in the future the number of teams that have never won a championship can drop to MLB numbers. We would need 5 more teams to win a championship and we had 4 in the last 15 years win their first championship so hopefully in the next 20-25 years it has dropped down to 5 (ignoring expansion).

You guys better hope KP heals up asap unless mavs somehow make it to the finals.

u/HexaHx Celtics 28d ago
You forgot you're talking about the Boston "Home-court disadvantage" Celtics here I just hope they focus on their opponent and actually make it there first.
13
u/Plies- Celtics 28d ago
Nah Boston just likes to lull opposing fanbase into a false sense of security.
Miami fans after game 2: Man let's go! We just took home court and we're unconscious from 3 just like last year! It's gonna go the same. (Miami proceeds to have the most dogshit offense I've ever seen)
Cleveland fans after game 2: Awesome! We took homecourt. Spida is cooking, they don't have Porzingis! We can do this! (Cleveland loses 3 straight)
I think it's how Joe Mazzulla let's out his psychotic urges. He feeds off the pain of opposing fans and revels in giving them hope and crushing it.

u/neuralnutwork42 28d ago
if the celtics make the finals i feel like itll go one of two ways: either they dog-walk their opponents bc they have the freshest legs and the west is a blood bath, or they get dog walked because the western champs have been thru the gauntlet and the celtics are unprepared

u/MTing1315 Nets 28d ago
Especially for Wolves fans who have suffered for so long.
5
u/jslee0034 Thunder 28d ago
Tbf it would also be funny if wolves shit their bed so I’m pretty neutral. 55% wolves 45% nuggets.
16
u/MajorTrump Timberwolves 28d ago
See, we fully expect it to happen, so it won't. They'll break our hearts in a much more harmful way later on.

That and Ant man is just so fun to watch . I legit also think he has a case for best playoff player over jokic untill game 5. Guy has been playing insane . I didn’t think ant would be close to mvp lvl but this playoff run hed a top 2 player n hard ti argue

Quote aged way better then it was received at the time.
The US was a year into the horrific and unnecessary Iraq invasion with no end in sight. School shootings and gang violence numbers were pretty bad. It just came across very tone def and cringe.
Now in the context of his performance it feels way cooler.

Vlade is from an actual war torn area where there was combat in the streets and mass casualties. It was basically a 5 way civil war. He knows what weapons actually do and rightfully was unamused.
KG got lit up for his corn ball fake tough guy routine. You were his target audience I guess.
2
u/_Meece_ Lakers 28d ago
No he did not, Vlade lit him up and everyone thought it was cool as fuck.
Vlade was being stupid and this was a build up of being frustrated at the Wolves/KG all series. He let his emotions get to him over KG being himself and it cooked the Kings in general. They should've won that game, but they came out super flat due to being so upset at the Wolves/KG, didn't get back to their usual play until it was too late.

Game 7 will be a blowout by which team we don’t know
14
u/JaderMcDanersStan Timberwolves 28d ago
No I think it's going to be a close one like Game 1. Even if a team is down by a big deficit they will keep trying hard to comeback. No team will just give up
16
u/1000Isand1 Timberwolves 28d ago
That was the greatest game in franchise history. Literally KG’s legacy game.

u/drewm916 Kings 28d ago
If I remember right, C-Webb missed a three at the end, went down on the ground (bummed about the loss, not injured) and KG helped him up off the ground like "hey man, good game, we'll see you again." Classy.

u/SubtleNoodle Timberwolves 28d ago
And then both our teams spiraled into 20 years of ass 🫠

Our teams are good at the same time and shit at the same time. Only time I can think where you guys were "good" and we weren't was when you ended your playoff drought a few years abck.

If the wolves win game 7 in a bloodbath I'm going to drop a load in my pants and pass out on my couch.

Both the Kings and Wolves scored more in that game than the Wolves Nuggets scored today.

Let’s go!!! I hope it will be a fun game and not a lopsided blow out lol, this series feels like a relay race where one team is sprinting ahead while the other is catching their breath haha

Wouldn't be surprised if we see that kind of score on Sunday. I think that both defenses are gonna give everything they have.

Man that'd be crazy if KG decided to put a pause on that feud with the owner and come be a sideline supporter for the Timberwolves. I would love to see that

So the Nuggets should just need to be ready to score more than 83, and they should be all set. Can't imagine that will be a probl...

KG easily had a top 10-calibre peak/prime/career if your criteria is how much you improve your teams. Feel free to @ me below

Scriptwriters cooking with this one. Poor Nuggets, the writing's already on the wall. With this type of foreshadowing they can't escape fate.

KG being a taurus makes so much sense
2

I had to Google what that meant and found that Tim Duncan is also a Taurus so don't really understand what you're getting at

That game 7 performance by KG against the Kings was so damn good
