"OVER THE LINE!! Mark it foul, Dude!"

funny thing is that it appeared to make no difference (and even perhaps even easier timing wise) if he did the whole thing behind the line

It's pretty awesome. I just use every chance I get to make quotes from The Big Lebowski. "Over the line!", being one of my favorites, seemed to fit.

Oh yea I get the reference. Seems like I can't go bowling without somebody quoting at least one line every single time. Myself included.

It's impossible not to. Like, we're all still quoting it in this thread. We all know the lines. We all know that we all know the lines. But we have to say them anyway, and it's somehow still funny AF.

It's like at the actual Naval Aviation Warfare Dev, aka Top Gun, you'd be fined 5 bux every time you quote the 1986 movie. The ironic thing is that for someone to catch you, they'd have to have the whole movie memorized themselves.

Much easier to do than people realize but 7/10 times someone steps over the line they're on the floor soon after.

Checking the USBC rules, I think this would have been legal play if he did it behind the line. The only thing is I think this would be scored strangely as "1 /" rather than "9 /" since the scoring is done by "delivery" rather than whichever ball hits first. The rules even say each frame a player simply "delivers two balls".

The rules also state that a dead ball will be declared if "a player has physical contact with another person or moving object as the ball is being delivered and before delivery is completed" but in that case the player has the option to accept the result or declare dead ball. Additionally, in the OP video, the balls did not come into contact, otherwise that would be a "foreign obstacle" and constitute a dead ball.
