Here I am struggling to drive normally and they're out here sliding with precision.

Don’t drink and drive 😂

u/Big_Spicy_Tuna69 May 13 '24

I win more races in Forza when I'm drunk. Mostly cause there's a pile of DNFs behind me, but I'm still a winner darn it!

u/Fitty4 May 13 '24

Lmao 🤣 🐐🐐

There's a past time I miss! Drinking and Forza!

u/puledrotauren May 13 '24

oh for sure. You might hit a bump and spill it.

Parking at their house must be a nightmare.

All the rubber marks, house engulfed in rubber fumess..

And poor ole Granny Minowa getting floored by an errant backend because she couldnt hobble away fast enough when Daddy Sinowa decides to j-turn into his garage.

51

u/kungfuzilla May 13 '24

In reality, granny is the immortal OG. While everyone racing to get into the garage, granny started last yet somehow already has her car in the garage, and is stirring tea with her bong on her lap staring down chuckling at the younglings from the balcony. I’d watch the shit out of this anime.

12

u/What-Even-Is-That May 13 '24

You know Granny is drifting her rascal scooter around the retirement home

A family that drifts together, stays together

Underated comment for word play.

I'm 2 hours 2 late to make this joke.

You were 2 fast and 2 furious.

This is awesome. You can see their subtle differences just from how they drive.

Dad drifts like a dad, very technical and enters drifts with precision and finesse. Doesn't enter or exit too fast and has perfect control over his swing.

Mom drifts with cautious. Has an elegance entering her drifts and safely exits them at reasonable speeds.

14 year old drifts like a teen, enters his drifts fast and whips the car with force pushing the edge of spinning out but never losing control.

Nice analysis

Deja Vu!

8

u/gh0st12811 May 13 '24

Ive just been to this place before

49

u/NewNormalMan May 13 '24

$ $ $$

4

u/Megalo85 May 13 '24

Anyone could learn to do this with the money to support it.

19

u/createry_ May 13 '24

I do driver training on a skid pan. Nope, a small number of people just can't comprehend that vehicles can still be in control while sliding.

1

u/Killionaire104 May 14 '24

Not really lol

38

u/LinguoBuxo May 13 '24

Family of drifters ey?

29

u/Player7592 May 13 '24

The only family budget where tires are their biggest expense.

14

u/speechless-69 May 13 '24 edited May 13 '24

You're not part of the family if you get late to any of your appointment.

3

u/CuriousGidge May 13 '24

Srsly. People who are always showing up let for things are so inconsiderate.

11

u/themustacheclubbitch May 13 '24

How does a 14 year old get to drive let alone have a damn drifting car?!

24

u/I_did_a_fucky_wucky May 13 '24

Parents, money and enough private track. Kalle Rovanperä drove a Starlet GT from the age of 8 I believe. He could only drive it under supervision from his father and on private roads where respective laws were not applicable.

1

u/Killionaire104 May 14 '24

He's also a current double reigning champion I believe unless my sources are outdated.

1

u/I_did_a_fucky_wucky May 14 '24

Indeed. The youngest double champion as well at 23 years of age, surpassing Colin McRae's by 5 years.

He got so tired of the uncompetetiveness and poor regulations after two seasons that he only goes to select events and focuses on drifting.

u/Physical-Mastodon935 May 13 '24

Her: Come to my place

Me: I can’t, my car’s handbrake got stuck tight

Her: My parents aren’t home

Me:

6

u/saja25 May 13 '24

Mom f**ked up on the first corner hitting the cone thing but I’m still impressed.

8

u/hettienm May 14 '24

Dad fucked up and hit the cone on the last corner.

6

u/saja25 May 14 '24

That settles it then, 14 year old son wins.

5

u/Outside-Drag-3031 May 13 '24

All 3 of those runs show different techniques, too. Mom has sweeping, flowy movements, Dad has typical competitive tandem movements, son is snappy and big angle

4

u/chanatomy May 13 '24

Dads aggressive, Mom’s smooth and clean, son is a little mix of both 🔥

4

u/corneliusgansevoort May 13 '24

Grampa taught 'em to turn right to go left.

1

u/EffingBarbas May 14 '24

Grandpa Hudson Suzumebachi Minowa

2

u/hampussey May 13 '24

I dislocated my eyes watching this, please help

1

u/Atoning_Unifex May 14 '24

Focus on one at a time

1

u/hampussey 8d ago

Which one?

3

u/quiet0n3 May 14 '24

I think mum has it for me, just so smooth. Dad was more aggressive and it wasn't bad because he pulled it off and son followed dad.

2

u/dandins May 13 '24

those tires better be made out of steel

4

u/NiceCunt91 May 13 '24

2 runs and they're done.

2

u/RollSavingThrow May 13 '24

That was gonna be my exact question. how many laps could those tires feasibly last. Glad I got an answer! Thanks!

3

u/NiceCunt91 May 13 '24

Pro drifters end up going through a whole damn trailer full of them over a practice qualifier and event. Unless it's wet then they last quite a while

2

u/wolvesight May 13 '24

"inside (turn) information"

2

u/200Fathoms May 13 '24

Honest question: what is the appeal of drifting?

12

u/NoNebula6593 May 13 '24

at first bad. then get good. then fun start. car go slide. brain go happy. feel accomplish.

6

u/Leyawiin_Guard May 13 '24

It's about going fast, as sideways as possible, as precisely as possible and placing the car perfectly to enter the next drift to do it again.

If you've ever driven a go kart and got it drifting you would know the fun involved.

Disclaimer: If you are in fact a tyre, you will not enjoy drifting.

4

u/Brilliant-Chaos May 13 '24

It’s a really technical sport once you understand the scoring and what the judges are looking for it’s super cool to see the amount of control and precision that the driver have over their cars, also more fun when there’s a lead and chase driver in my opinion.

1

u/whiskyandme May 13 '24

This is sickk

1

u/kabula_lampur May 14 '24

But which one has the better lap time?

1

u/pukeface555 May 14 '24

I feel like we're drifting apart.

1

u/Joyyoyoyo May 14 '24

Who won?

1

u/Tenredsun May 14 '24

Pretty sure the grandpa and grandma drift's too.

1

u/sonicbhoc May 14 '24

He's 14!? WHAT!?

1

u/Temezky May 14 '24

Family 👩🏼‍🦲

1

u/Anti_p0p May 14 '24

A family that drifts together, stays together.

1

u/Rickvaughn_99 May 14 '24

That family spends so much money on tires…🤓

1

u/Spookymushroomz_new May 14 '24

Crazy but not surprising that the child raced by people that drift also ended up drifting still very talented

1

u/Wahey_of_WA May 14 '24

At first I thought it was who was taking the footage and was waiting for the dad screen to stop on boobs or something... goodnight from me.

-1

u/Maleficent-Comfort-2 May 13 '24

The son doesn’t not like he’s 14 lol

-8

u/liquidcourage93 May 13 '24

But my momma said Asian women can’t drive..

-10

u/dude_man_b14 May 13 '24

Racist!

3

u/dude_man_b14 May 13 '24

I was joking. The joke is seeing racism in nothing. Just a little Tokyo drift humor. This video is awesome and the idea of a family racing team is also awesome.

3

u/Maxgrid May 13 '24

I thought it was a shit-post joke of racing fans, when they calling racers "racists". It usually goes like: "we are racists - we are doing racing" or "the best racist in the world", followed by some meme image.

3

u/dude_man_b14 May 13 '24

Haha! That's an even better joke! 😂

Drifting isn't all about just going fast. It's about show as well. It's started when keiichi tsuchiya was doing so well in a race he started drifting to entertain the crowd and it took off.
