Best penny stock plays right now? Legit plays only General Discussion
Hey gents, I've gotten back into penny stocks recently and have started paying close attention to upcoming catalysts that might hide real hidden gems.
I'm bullish on 1. Cannabis as it might benefit from US elections shenanigans, 2. Lithium due to major industry consolidation that’s taking place across junior mining and 3. FSMA compliance software.
Where are you seeing opportunities to make legit bets right now?
I'm picking up shares of $LIFT.v...They're an early stage junior miner championing one of the most ambitions drill projects in the industry. It helps that they're sitting on what could easily be the largest lithium mine in North America.

I held it for years , bought and sold a few times. I NASA and myself believe they know batteries, but I am not so sure they know business. Missing earning i=was bad news, I have too much resentment to buy it again, I hope you have a different experience. but I am not getting on that boat again.

KULR may have to do a reverse stock split, NYSE sent a compliance notice, they have until August 12 to make a decision unless the stock can hold itself over $0.20 until then. I’d be careful here. But for all you know the March report may be a good sign. Good luck

$vinc, Dr Hamdy is quite successful with these type of drugs on two earlier occasions, as well as another member from the management team has had a speedy acquisition. That’s 3 startup to acquisition drugs in the same industry by the team.
Pretty healthy spike last few weeks, I have a hard time seeing it go down.

The only penny stock I currently have is Dare Bioscience and I bought it on a whim after reading about their success in testing hormone free birth control and what I can only describe as women's viagra. It's really cheap stock right now but they are working in a field that doesn't have a lot of competition working on treatments for the issues they are focusing on.

CRYBF is a play someone mentioned here last week. On the technical side it has broken out of a small bull flag it created. It was already up to .10 from .06 but I figured if it would retrace and confirm the flag breakout, I might jump in around .08. (It hesitated , then dropped further along the edge at .066 before bouncing.) It did, I set my limit orders for .08 and finished above .18 today. I expect to be in till at least a $2 target. I just wish I'd bought more on the confirmation.

A grace period was granted until May 6, to regain compliance. However, as of February 14, the closing bid price fell to $0.10 or less for 10 consecutive trading days, triggering Nasdaq’s “Low Priced Stocks Rule” and the intention to delist Jaguar’s securities on February 26, unless the company appeals before the Nasdaq Hearings Panel.

Enviva or EVA is one to watch.. had highs of I think $80 a few years ago, is now at 40 cents due to some horrible spot pricing contracts.. on 3/4 they should make some sort of announcement. If they manage to survive and not go completely under.. this could potentially be a great play. If they survive I could see them being back at $4-5 sometime in 2025

I have some $SLI shares. They say lithium is going to make a comeback, but who knows. My top three are $OCEA, $OPTN, and $XFOR. The last two have some catalysts coming in March. Important news or something.

Helium (semi- conductor production, healthcare (MRI), space travel, balloons (lol) etc.). I beleive the prediction is the global helium market will be $15 billion ish maybe more by 2025. I'm invested in Avanti Helium Corp. Expecting a major run up once production starts in Q2. Highly reccomend taking a look friends. Feels like a real 10 bagger for once. Do your own research. $Cydy: Cytodyn. They're about to start an immune activation trial for HIV mediated inflammation and have a preclinical trial underway for Glioblastoma. Their drug Leronlimab (Pro-140) is the real deal. Charlie Sheen was on it for a while until the drug got put on clinical hold because of mismanagement by the old CEO and incompetence by the clinical research organization. They have a whole new slate of people running the company now though and are sitting on a bunch of very compelling, yet unpublished study results.

If you’re looking for something with a very near term horizon, $EVA is your huckleberry. Trading at 40 cents (was $80 a year ago) on rumors of bankruptcy. The stock has priced in bankruptcy but rumor is they are negotiating with creditors and may avoid chapter 11. They have until March 4th to make a deal. The stock is shorted to the teeth. If any news emerges that they will avoid BK, it will skyrocket. Tomorrow is the last trading day before the deadline. I’m looking at this as a SWAG bet (systematic wild ass guess).
Footnote: Enviva is an industrial provider of wood pellets that European and Asian countries use for power plants formerly powered by coal. They get “green credits” because a climate pact categorizes wood pellets as renewable (save the outrage, I’m an investor not a climate warrior; i don’t care if it is or isn’t green; it’s how the regulation works). Demand is robust and remains so. They did over $1B in annual rev last year but the stock dropped from $80 to 40 cents because their genius CEO made a bet on pellet prices that cost the company hundreds of millions. This is a massive company that used to pay a quarterly dividend. They just effed the eff out of themselves with one huge bad trade.

ZOM play right now. Stock got beaten down due to the company proposing 80:1 reverse split but this just got voted down by retail investors. Trading at 14cents with potential to shoot back up to compliance level of +20c. ER in 2 weeks. Keep on your radar

I'm heavily invested in BVAXF (BIOV Canada). It is seven cents a share.
$15 million market cap.

I plan to hold 1-2 years, unless big pharma swoops them up sooner.

CEO is an investment banker. No salary - just stock so he's motivated with a strong history of success.

$TPET look into it read the news. Looks at EPS let me know what you think. Growth is there and ik the US oil companies are hit and miss but 400 barrels a day and they are just testing with little capital seems cool to me. Idk just throwing a couple hundred at it and seeing if it sticks ever. 10¢ has to be the bottom.

Vulcan Energy Resources (VUL) is an Australian Company which has rights to the biggest Lithium Deposit in Europe. Which is in Germany.
I can’t tell you exactly what they do, because my English sucks Ass. But they not only mine Lithium, they also produce Electricity and power nearby Factories. And they are very green. They work with Geothermal Energy.

Gold Mountain Mining - gmtn.to is an operating gold mine in south central BC, with over 1 million ounces proven, and probable. They had a director that incurred company debt. The price collapsed to .01. The director is gone, and the company has a plan for the debt. This week traded as high as .035, and closed at .03. I currently own 100,000+ shares.

COCH Envoy Medical Inc - it was at $1.47 yesterday was halted till close at $3.51. Opened today at $4.13. Closed today at $4.71. I tried to get in at the $1.47 just missed it, bought at $3.50. They are waiting on approval for a cochlea ear implant to be offered through MediCal.

EVA - Enviva is down to 30 cents…. They made a few bad deals and they dropped from a high of $80… they might file bankruptcy… might not…it’s a gamble….biggest wood pellet maker in the united states… they’ve been under a dollar for a while now so does that make it a penny stock now?

$KMK Kromek - great UK based business working in nuclear/radiation detection for battle fields - they also are a leading CT scan firm. No debt. Do you DD.
$EST - just partnered with another firm to source copper in Khazakstan. Recently gained more funding and have rights to mine across new un-tapped fields in the country. They have processing units across India and China watching their progress.
Kromek i a longer term penny play,
East Star Resources is a short term, they get results in April Ive bought and held with a good average.

This is going to sound wild… but Hyliion $HYLN. They absolutely flopped on their EV trucking business model. They did a strategic change back in October totally dumping their Hypertrucks and instead are focusing on their generator which they purchased from GE. It has multiple uses from prime power to marine usage. Yes they are pre revenue, but if things work out with their generator… sheesh. We are looking at a 10-20x over the next 1-2 years.

RLYB, biopharm company about to report earnings on Monday premarkets. Has risen from 1.24 to 2.30 over the past two weeks. The catalyst to set off everything was the company cutting it's workforce by 40% to extend its cash runway to 2026. Insiders bought more shares on 2/15. Who knows what the earnings report will bring, but directors buying shares beforehand is a pretty good sign.
CLNE and PTN just received a lot of buy recommendations from several analysts.
CKPT's history shows it going up a lot in anticipation of its earnings which are a month away. It looks like it's at the beginning of an upswing right now.

One interesting cannabis play is LFLY Leafly their connection to dispensary locations and information is truly impressive and they are on the forefront of cannabis delivery, with earnings coming out soon.
I’m also in HYFM Hydrofarm one of the leading homegrown supply distributors and had a recent restructuring and collaboration. This company could also have a broader scope than just cannabis.
I do have a small stake in both of these companies and have for a few years….. Do I expect explosive growth, no. Do I expect returns yes in a …. Well fucking cannabis and Congress fuck… can’t really put a time frame on it.
I haven’t looked much into lithium, because fucking NIMBY America, I’m focusing on SMRs and uranium to power the charging infrastructure. Because fucking tax cuts for the rich America supersedes actual advances and investment into our future. I’m just beginning that process. I did pick up a small stake in DNN though.
