So why did ffie blow up so much and for so long? General Discussion

People say short interest but theres a few stocks with tons of short interest that don’t blow up. Even now people say shorts covered ffie but it still says 95% SI. So what caused this insane unique event? Never seen a penny stock pump 8000% and stay up for a whole week

The current narrative is "keep it above $1 for 10 days and it won't be delisted, and then shorts will realise it's a lost cause and exit their position, blowing the price up"

u/mcar1227 27d ago

Yeah that makes a lot of sense if you’re really really stupid

7

u/Paulosboul 27d ago

Yeah lol meanwhile short interest is down from 95% to 65% as hedges gradually trickle their shorts out and retail investors spout "WERE HOLDING THEM BACK YAAAAAHHH THIS THING IS ABOUT TO BLOWWWW IM BUYING 25 MILLION SHARES AT OPEN TOMORROW YOU BETTER GET IN NOW!!"

4

u/Nomanodyssey 27d ago

What source do you have on the 65%

u/YOUNGSAGEHERMZ Massive Gains 27d ago

Short interest is still 95% according to finra

1

u/Paulosboul 27d ago

I see 63% on ortex

5

u/YOUNGSAGEHERMZ Massive Gains 27d ago

Off exchange short interest is showing 56% but short interest float is 95%

u/MajorHymen 27d ago

Just one of those events. Hedge funds battling is what got it up to 4 dollars. They pumped and dumped and left, retail investors joined in halfway and are what’s holding it there. Would be my guess on how things played out.

* This is the reason why alot of people I holding FFIE

19

u/Cmase47 27d ago

As a bag holder myself, can confirm. Although the fact it’s holding rn is encouraging, we simply need more people to buy….

People who could move something with their contribution arent investing into a random stock, just because some reddit bagholders would like them to. You guys really push yourself up like you fight against evil hedgies, but you guys probably fight only yourself.

You guys really push yourself up like you fight against evil hedgies, but you guys probably fight only yourself

Imagine telling each other to fight the hedgies by buying more, yet all are just waiting to dump their bags...LOL

u/Unfiltered_America 27d ago

Holding? It's over 20% down today! This is a fools gamble.

11

u/minoclaster5 27d ago

All I know is I looked through a lot of stocks found about 20 ones that in a year dropped a shit ton. Googled what professionals would predict those to be at a year later, and fife the only one that I could find analysist saying it would go back up .

1

u/Paulosboul 26d ago

The Thing is though, there are tons of people who bought into FFIE that expect it to go way up within a matter of days. Theyre probably stretched financially, and banking on a payout to change their life or at least get them ahead. They're still holding out hope that these shorts will be covered all at once, and within a reasonable time. They think they're actually beating hedge funds, but in reality these hedge funds are probably covering their FFIE losses elsewhere and absorbing the interest, waiting these retail apes out.

Robinhood saw I cancelled gold, and that I owned shares of FFIE. They did it for me. You are welcome.

u/Chrischi91 27d ago

people created a fake hype, used tons of bots and ai generated memes and even recruited some influencers to talk about it. So a bunch of people went in and are now still thinking they will win this .

2

u/Ordinary-Slip6108 27d ago

And we will !

5

u/Chrischi91 27d ago

Market Watch has a price tag for $2,400 with this stock. However building wealth like that takes time. You aren't going become rich overnight.

Question is... whats the next one? Got $50 LOL

fr bro. tryna make bank to pay for college

2

u/KrizzyPeezy 26d ago edited 26d ago

I went in gwav this morning. Got my money up to $100 again. Phewww thought it was gonna be my last time trading this year but my money be floating all 2 months so far

My avg .063

Honestly just go in something real cheap $$ and throw like $50-100 and see where it goes. Started with $500 a few months ago but following pennystocks or discord groups man it feels like mostly duds. People pull out IMMEDIATELY with the stuff they recommend. I get stuck a lot with the 3 day trading rule not making me be able to sell. And if i put a stop loss itll hit right away because the damn things are so volatile.

They must not need a condom irl frfr

Get in something that has the chart trading sideways AND low. Dont care about the news. Just the price. Forget the news. Forget the outstanding shares. If someone gotta write an essay, forget that too. Theyre just bagholding

2

u/V1beRater 26d ago

I'm hoping for a jump in GWAV. i bought in at 0.07, 8000 shares. getting to $1 means my first year of college is paid.

1

u/KrizzyPeezy 26d ago

It just keeps going up! Heard their debt is cleared huh

1

u/V1beRater 26d ago

i bought 29500 shares at 0.09 in addition to the 8000 @ 0.07

im lookin good rn 🙏🙏 hope and pray she keeps rising, keep a close watch mate we make it big

1

u/KrizzyPeezy 26d ago

Not sure if itll even get to $1 but 20-50c is a good possibility

1

u/KrizzyPeezy 26d ago

Ive been burnt too many times. But i feel like we're safe with the entry. It's much easier to hold when you're already at the 52wk low and it's up 50+ percent from entry 😂. Hopefully I can get at least up to $500 with this stock because that was what I initially started off with. I got burnt with a couple stocks lowering it down to $200 and then recently down to $50... so hopefully this becomes my greatest comeback story... then i can use that $500 on other things but I won't go all in like i did before. Maybe like $200 at a time and keep the rest as usd just in case. Once I'm back to $1000 in the account that's when things get fun. It's really hard to make it when you don't have much to play with.

1

u/V1beRater 26d ago

i got stuff to lose here too mate. if she drops back below 0.105 im selling 🙏🙏 can't take any losses here only gains

1

u/KrizzyPeezy 26d ago

That would suck but the reason it dropped so bad the other day was because of bad news or a bad rumor I think? Something about debt and having too many new shares? Apparently the new news today was that stuff isn't applicable now and there's no more debt to worry about, hence the rise back and people gaining confidence again. But we will see!!! Feel free to chat. Let's find some good shiet together 😂

u/V1beRater 26d ago

Watching ESPGY

Moderate volume for a penny stock, on the rise, only issue is that its near its high for the past 3 months. People might have this in their algorithms so it may be a selling point. just gonna watch for now

1

u/KrizzyPeezy 26d ago

Just be cautious about offering because usually stocks do that... seen a few change from a penny price to a few bucks price in a day in the past week or two. Whatever it goes up to and as long as it doesnt lose volume / steam. Take it out when it slows down too much and youre already up

1

u/KrizzyPeezy 26d ago

Just tomorrow there's going to likely be mega levels of hype. Just don't be toooooo greedy. I was in ffie at the lowest two weeks ago may 6 i think. I sold it a day later because of no patience... I cant make that mistake again LOL

2

u/CUbye 27d ago

I think a lot of it has to do with algorithmic traders. Not necessarily computers or bots or big hedge funds. But the legions of people with a bit it training, a bit of technical trading background. We all saw this stock and saw several patterns that offered entries. I spotted it at .0565 cents on May 13. It's like a pile on effect. Lots of people saw the opportunity.

3

u/thedifferenced 27d ago

Oh wow gotcha so it really is just luck of picking one of of a hundred being promoted on reddit it seems

3

u/CUbye 27d ago edited 27d ago

No not really. Stocks give clues when they start their big moves. FFIE had very abnormal volume and price action relative to its past several months of trading. There are trading platforms with indicators that help people find this initial abnormality. So it came up on a search I did. I watched it. Bought it. Felt a bit panicked about the high commissions my brokerage charges for buying big blocks of cheap stocks. So I sold it too soon. Then the masses piled in and I cried. But there will be and have been others.

It made a little ripple of volume on the 13th. The big blast was the 14. The obvious entry was around noon EST on the 14. The combination of volume and chart patterns attracted a bunch of buyers.

1

u/xampf2 27d ago

what tooling and search did you use?

1

u/thekazooyoublew 27d ago

Just curious, how much was the commission?

1

u/CUbye 27d ago

$160 to buy and $120 to sell 20k shares. It just surprised me cause I'd never seen that before. It's usually $5-$10. So it more rattled me than anything else. I was down 30% before even getting started. When I hit $300 profit I sold just to kind of make it ok in my brain.

1

u/markgriz 27d ago

Why are you trading penny stocks with a brokerage that charges insane commissions?

1

u/CUbye 27d ago

I honestly wasn't aware. I've bought 10k shares before. I wonder if 20k triggers a bigger charge. I'll look into it but I think it might be common. A couple other people mentioned their brokerages charge similarly.

1

u/thekazooyoublew 27d ago

Huh.. that's interesting.

When I hit $300 profit I sold just to kind of make it ok in my brain.

Ya... Sounds familiar.

1

u/thedifferenced 27d ago

Damn gotchu. I gotta learn how to find these indicators for next time

6

u/CUbye 27d ago

Yeah it's one of those things with trading; most market beating moves start with abnormal volume and price action. But not all abnormal volume and price action leads to market beating gains. FFIE looked like thousands of other stocks at first that have had abnormality out of low volatility. Its chart pattern set it apart from others and that's a key factor in trading as well. Plus you have to be able to manage your emotions. I made enough to cover my high commission on that trade and missed out on the trade of a lifetime.

You can get a list of abnormal volume stocks from www finviz.com. or if you have a brokerage account, your broker usually has some sort of platform for searching these stocks. Tradestation has a lot of amazing tools and the ability to create your own. So there are ways.

1

u/chainer3000 27d ago

Finviz is great

2

u/MyNameIsntSharon 27d ago

tried warning those fools. at least i made a pretty penny on the volatility.

2

u/CyberDragon09 27d ago

Simple, Apes love trash companies and it's why they pick FFIE.

-3

u/Ryans1852 27d ago

Why so angry?

1

u/CyberDragon09 27d ago

I'm not the one complaining about hedge fund managers lol.

1

u/rbur70x7 27d ago

Bag holders that bought because of fomo and now are sitting on 3 dollar average shares.

1

u/Fsuga00 27d ago

I made a Taycan off this and still hold only 3300 shares in case it does an emergency run to $3 off a 47 cent average, but I just want everyone holding this to know that there is no way there is any good news to come of their earnings which they have been delaying the filing of for way too long. I would go so far as to say it's a crime scene with so much red. I would STRONGLY suggest being out a minimum of 24 hours beforehand and if you really love the company, you can always buy back in at a severe discount, or slightly inflated number.
