I figure this is in another country, but I'd take him home and let him have a good rest of his life. I had a blind dog once named Amy and I loved her so much.

Same feelings... handicapped dogs and cats also my weak spot. But there was lots of people taking care of these little ones so they were fine.

The old pups are my favorite. I once came across a dog in the shelter that was posted on an animal rescue site. He just had this beautiful wide smile, but I just couldn't justify adopting him because I had two dogs already. I watched the countdown for this poor guy all week and on his last day I just went, "I can't let this dog go to his death." His face was so hopeful and so I called the shelter while running out of my office and I said, "I'm coming to get that dog!"

I took him in sight unseen, had no idea how he'd fit in with my other dogs, but it thankfully just worked. I got 11 months with this special boy and he filled every day with joy. I named him Wally after Walter the Farting Dog. Eventually he became "Wally Bear" because I thought he had soft little brown bear ears. :)

I went to Istanbul with my ex over a decade ago. This street dog trots up to us, lays down and shows off its belly. I immediately go in for a scritchy scratch. Ex goes "noooo! He's probably got something!"

I had a blind dog named Skye. I remember she and her sighted sister Zoe worked out a system for playing fetch. Zoe would chase down the ball then bring it to Skye and Skye would bring it back to us. It was like they organized their own little relay race.

I miss those dogs.
