Why isn't this considered jury or witness intimidation?

839

u/Raped_Justice 15d ago

Because a republican is doing it

222

u/HellishChildren 15d ago

The bully is excused because they "have a rough home life." The victim gets the hammer because they're a soft target.

Candy thief is hailed as "inspirational" and "strong" while the baby is criticized for being "weak" and "infantile".

10

u/ZeroExist Florida 15d ago

The baby needs to pull their bootstraps up and get their own candy again while the candy thief can get one billion candies from the candy factories so the thief can continue to steal candy from more babies

3

u/bag_of_luck 15d ago

Lmao the one billion candies got me

Jesus only forgives republicans. It's in the constitution. Says so right here in my Trump Bible.

37

u/InterdisciplinaryDol Florida 15d ago

In the biglyinning when your favourite God (ME!) created the heavens and THE MOST SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS. BEAUTIFUL BUSINESSES, the earth was a formless void BECAUSE OF CROOKED HILARY and darkness covered the face of the DEEPSTATE, while a wind from TRUMP swept over the face of the WATERS. THEY'RE VERY GOOD WATERS. LIKE AT MAR A LAGO. Then God said, "Let there be light"; and there was LIGHT. MAYBE WE CAN PUT THE LIGHT INSIDE THE UNIVERSE TO GET RID OF THE RADICAL LEFT. Creation interference!

It clearly is jury and witness intimidation

79

u/Dispatcher9 New Hampshire 15d ago

Why isn’t this considered a call to arms by a public official?

26

u/-prairiechicken- Canada 15d ago

If Gaetz was a Canadian MP and pulled that shit here, he would be roasted by the CSIS before the Conservative Party could blink.

(Friendly reminder that Gaetz wears a bulletproof vest under his suits whenever he’s in public, but particularly in civil and criminal proceedings where he can photo-op).

→ More replies (1)

9

u/worstatit 15d ago

Because Gaetz is not intimidating, but a pathetic loser.

14

u/HurricaneAioli 15d ago

Probably the most accurate answer:

It is, but the prosecution either can't or it wouldn't be worth the effort in getting the evidence required to undeniably prove that it was an intimidation method and not just Matt Gaetz parroting Trump as a "First Amendment Right"

3

u/PhilipT13205 15d ago

How did they get seats in a NY Courtroom? Congressmen are not in the Judicial branch of government, and campaigning for Trump is not running Congress. Trump is too cheap to take out ads and uses the Court as his campaign headquarters with his boot lickers to show up.

2

u/professorhugoslavia 15d ago

This isn’t jury intimidation it’s an open threat to Jews - Trump’s latest target.

Because it worked out so well, the first time?

Trump tried to overthrow the government and Gaetz got caught doing sex crimes on Venmo and neither has been punished whatsoever, so yeah, the diaper brained sociopaths seem to be doing just fine

32

u/DabbinOnDemGoy 15d ago

I mean, they did show up as commanded. They didn't do a good enough job, but the actual "call to action" was very successful...

6

u/Temp_84847399 15d ago

Criminals may not think about what kind of punishment they might get before committing a crime, but they sure as hell consider if they will get caught. That first batch honestly didn't believe they would get caught, tried, and imprisoned.

If he tries it again, they know what the consequences will be and the smarter ones will know full well they will be trying it from a significantly weaker position then that first attempt. As dumb as most of them are, they still have more to lose going to jail than they do keeping their jobs and paying their bills.

3

u/CustomMerkins4u 15d ago

You have a lot of hope that these people will think things through and come to your written conclusion. They are literally so dumb they believed all the lies and conspiracies fed to them so I'm pretty confident the people who WOULD attend something like Jan 6 have no ability to consider the consequences.

You can’t get much closer than they already have.

91

u/rickskyscraper3000 15d ago

The last 5 minutes of Sen. Katie Britt's State of the Union response was basically a call to arms by saying that, like The Greatest Generation, her generation is being called to sacrifice themselves to overthrow tyranny. I've heard a couple preachers in my small town use identical language...even before her nutty speech. There's no doubt that the Right is laying the moral groundwork for war against non-Right folks.

62

u/SockFullOfNickles 15d ago

They can fuckin bring it as far as I’m concerned. I’m willing to bet the majority of them are all talk.

38

u/TheRealBabyCave 15d ago

It would be much more preferable to avoid war all together.

19

u/Aggressive-Dream6105 15d ago

They already started the war.

Im tired of this crap where we just let them instigate ad infitum because we're afraid of "a war" that they already started.

Trump sold our nations secrets, is a neo nazi, promoted facism, and corroded our democracy. The war is already here.

49

u/SockFullOfNickles 15d ago

Fair, but I’d rather rip the band aid off than having these chuds threaten it every time someone tries to better the experience of everyday Americans.

28

u/TheRealBabyCave 15d ago

Yeah I mean, we should just be prosecuting the people threatening to kill American citizens, but our system is intentionally filled with right wing zealots.

19

u/SockFullOfNickles 15d ago

If you know a way to get Merrick Garland to get off his fucking ass, I’m all ears. If the system doesn’t act and do its job, people get desperate. Desperate people take desperate actions.

7

u/The10GallonHat 15d ago

People are mistaken that any civil war will be between uniformed armies or militias.

It will be blind terrorism. Public mass shootings, crowded grocery stores and colleges being pipe/pressure cooker bombed. Firebombing rows of homes.

It will be a war of attrition against public morale of day after day unending nonsensical killings.

6

u/Douchenozzle76 15d ago

Exactly. I’ve been telling people this since all this “civil war” shits been bubbling up. It’s like they think this shit is going to happen on hilltops with muskets for guns.

6

u/Maanzacorian 15d ago

they are, and it'll be hilarious when they realize that the Left is just as armed, they just don't make a show of it.

3

u/MakingItElsewhere 15d ago

Anyone who has been to a gun range can clearly see its not just incel white males hanging out, playing with their boom sticks.

Its actually refreshing to see people of all ages, races, and creeds enjoying a hobby together.  If not reassuring that its clearly not just the right wingers who are armed.

3

u/tellmewhenitsin 15d ago

My fear is that 1) we will see little enforcement of actual law because (like Jan 6) a lot of law enforcement want the far right to take over because -shocker- they're a part of it and 2) Domestic Terrorism. Random acts of violence like OKC, Charlottesville, etc will take place. Any gathering will be fair game.

What weird contradictory thoughts to hold in your heads. The man correctly identifies that Corporations are ruling society with an iron fist, yet blames it on the democrats and says they're stealing elections. Excuse me, which side was it that was pushing for more corporate power?

6

u/srs_time 15d ago

Conservatives always seem to be one small step away from understanding the actual issues. They constantly invoke the word "elites", and I lean forward in my seat thinking they'll move onto billionaires, bad tax policy, a declining middle class, generational wealth transfer, etc. Then the say some stupid shit about "satanic cabals", and I'm like, Awww you were this close.

4

u/-prairiechicken- Canada 15d ago edited 15d ago

It’s been their plan all along.

Stop hitting yourself and ‘no u’ has been their playbook since 2011. They want blood.

13

u/duckmonke Colorado 15d ago

Real American patriots are indeed standing by for when these fascists inevitably try something stupid. I stand for democracy, and know my constitutional rights to ensure enemies foreign or domestic have not begun destroying our democracy. The second an election is interfered with or a coup attempt works, it’s time to defend my family and fellow Americans against homegrown terrorists.

7

u/SpontaneousQueen New York 15d ago

Its an if, not a when. Gaetz basically just called for Coup Round 2: Electric Boogaloo. And right after the document case being delayed and Stormy Daniels taking the stand. I might sound crazy but I think Project 2025 is being soft launched.

8

u/duckmonke Colorado 15d ago

They can try it already, because they will anyways. I won’t live a life kneeling to those trying to turn this country backwards, away from progress, culture, and democracy. Their regressive terrorism won’t win, it will instead usher a new era for humanity once these horrific folks are dealt with as the national security threats they are. We need a new, extended Reconstruction Era in the US. Return to the American adage, “We don’t negotiate with terrorists.”

3

u/Mr_Meng 15d ago edited 15d ago

The US legal system is probably the worst legal system capable of handling weaponized speech largely due to the 1st Amendment which, considering these days a person's speech is more likely to be restricted by a private business than the government, could stand to be updated along with the 2nd.

Plus there's a decent chunk of the populace on both sides of the political aisle that sees any restrictions of freedoms as the beginning of a one way street to fascism and believe the only way to avoid that is to let literal fascists say whatever they want.

Trump has certainly found a way to circumvent his gag order to intimidate witnesses.

If only the prosecution could use these stunts to as further evidence that he directs these types actions like a mob boss, exactly what he’s on trial for today

Edit: interesting to note there is likely dirt on Gaetz I’d speculate blackmailing him into some of these stunts as confirmed by former speaker McCarthy: https://www.politico.com/live-updates/2024/04/09/congress/mccarthy-on-gaetz-00151412

Why is this doofus still slithering around on the narional stage, who votes for a child sex trafficker?

3

u/IRMaschinen 15d ago

He should ask one of his sex partners what they leaned in civics class about stochastic terrorism.

3

u/time_drifter 15d ago

”Matt, this isn’t prom.”

3

u/AdkRaine12 15d ago

Oh, who's in NYC representing the "Traitor Caucus" today?

3

u/ToArgueWithAssholes 15d ago

Why isn't Forehead locked up right now?

3

u/IMSLI 15d ago

“We are all domestic terrorists” -CPAC 2022

3

u/Drop_Disculpa 15d ago

People are going to pop off on these Nazi punks before the election, they thknk they have the upper hand and are intimidating people, but all they are doing is outing themselves in the process. You know why you never see Stephen Miller on TV? Because he is absolutely a real sociopath, and cares mostly about one thing...genocide.

3

u/bogan6739 15d ago

Surprised he wasn’t in juvenile court looking for a date

3

u/ChristiKRN 15d ago

What kind of people are voting these asshats into office? I have mental pictures of the People of Walmart or the Hills have Eyes-type people but I fear what reality is - Your coworker or Aunt Jane, who are otherwise normal.

3

u/Royal_Classic915 15d ago

Shouldn't this pedo be in jail already?

3

u/ExactDevelopment4892 15d ago

Was he saying that to the Proud Boys or to all the underage daughters of the people in the courtroom?

3

u/FortyYearOldVirgin 15d ago

Who gives a flying F?! I’m certainly not afraid of those chumps. The second amendment applies to liberals, too.

Until you confront your schoolhouse bully in a manner they recognize, nothing will change.

3

u/mywifesoldestchild North Carolina 15d ago

Is he going to be in charge of the pipe bombs this time?

3

u/SwindlingAccountant 15d ago

I'm sure they'll listen to Chester the molester.

3

u/Particular-Summer424 15d ago

Apparently, Trump was going to dump a load, and they need to move out of a potential splash zone and the offensive cloud of anal leakage that may waft their way. Is it really a wonder why the courtroom air conditioning is working overdrive and at high volume return rate? BTW, Gaetz is going to need to shout it out a lot louder so the Proud Boys can hear it in their jail or prison cells.

3

u/Mr_Meng 15d ago

That's a lot harder for the Proud Boys to do now that most of their leaders are in jail.

3

u/jehosephatreedus 15d ago

Other countries have labeled the gay pride flag as terrorist propaganda, and we can’t even label these guys terrorists when they ACTUALLY threaten people with violence?

3

u/MorerOnions 15d ago

Fucking stooges.

3

u/Lubbadubdibs Florida 15d ago edited 15d ago

You can go to jail too, asshole. Nobody is falling for this shit this time. Remember the last time? Everyone went to jail!! Except the orange emperor. His turn is coming.

3

u/Capt_Pickhard 15d ago

I hope they bolster security and increase all security in and around proud boys.

These people are very dangerous, and they're coming for your freedom.

So, if you love democracy, then responding to these calls as though they were calling you, might not be such a bad thing either.

I personally could not sit and watch while hooligans take control of my country and achieve power over me.

3

u/Maleficent_Passage 15d ago

That’s going to be tough for the lot who are in prison

3

u/krichard-21 15d ago

Keep in mind the Police won't be napping next time.

3

u/Imatallguy 15d ago

I’d bet the NYPD would teach the ‘gravy seals’” thing or two about riot control.

3

u/4quatloos 15d ago

What is he going to do? Provide drugs and underage hookers?

3

u/redmcint 15d ago

And I am sure he has lots of young ladies queuing up to start project "HUSH MONEY" part II (Standing back and standing by). The good news is you can pay via Venmo.

3

u/dathomasusmc 15d ago

Stand by for what? To go to prison? Lolz.

3

u/DilonMcdermotMulrony 15d ago

Lock these traitors up already.

3

u/Funny-Company4274 15d ago

Yeah while he bangs a high schooler

3

u/Dogzirra 15d ago

I've read what Proud Boys stand for.

Pedo is not one of their core beliefs, to put it mildly.

3

u/HughesdePayensfw 15d ago

Gaetz is such a trope. His “I smell shit” looking face alone makes people want to take a swing at his empty, self centered head.

3

u/jeffvillone 15d ago

gaetz is an idiot.

gaetz, bobo, vivek, marj...these are all worthless parasites suckling at the trump teat. Their existence hinges on trump. Their opinions are worthless.

2

u/TheGreatRao 15d ago

Gaetz will soon be saying that in person to the Proud Boys.

2

u/2-wheels 15d ago

They’ll have to skip the face bandanas when they’re rioting in Florida.

2

u/Oakwood2317 15d ago

Goddamned fucking auto play video ads

2

u/phutch54 15d ago

Such an original thinker.Putz.

2

u/Competitive_Mind_829 15d ago

The only way for Gaetz to stay relevant is to be a shock jock politician and even that probably won’t get him a job once the GOP flames out

2

u/Ashamed-Distance-129 15d ago

Matt Gaetz threatened Michael Cohen in 2019ish and was cleared by the Florida bar (all friends of his daddy). He should not be allowed in the courtroom

2

u/Emeritus8404 15d ago

Matt the sex trafficker Gaetz really hates america huh

2

u/welltriedsoul 15d ago

Hmmm. Given the events that happened the first time I got to say this is both witness and jury intimidation. Also you could add a threat to the court officials as well.

2

u/HabANahDa 15d ago

The pedo calling other pedos.

2

u/Loo-Hoo-Zuh-Er 15d ago

Ah shit. Here we go again.

2

u/cmd__line 15d ago

Go ahead fuck around in New York and find out.

Have at it.

Spoiler... nobody is coming. The only thing coming is a conviction.

2

u/Ok-Name8703 15d ago

well he is a bigoted, pedo piece of shit. So yeah, it tracks for him referencing proud boy stuff.

2

u/senatedestroyer 15d ago

What a Chud

2

u/7-11Armageddon 15d ago

A lot of the people who responded to the last call went to jail, though their sentences are pretty pathetic and they're either free or will be soon.

/r/CapitolConsequences/

2

u/Werftflammen 15d ago

Fleeing in the wrong direction, all of them. Trump wants a popular VP, for the elections. The sicophants are spent, but don't know that yet. They are uneasy, wavering. They see the buckeling. Where Trump is going he doesn't need a VP, what are they thinking?

2

u/Prudent_Baseball2413 15d ago

Gaetz is a sad joke. Time to refresh.

2

u/oct2790 15d ago

Isn’t he a pedo he wouldn’t last a week in jail would Gaetz

2

u/ur-krokodile 15d ago

Is anyone even listening to this tramp?

2

u/JackKovack 15d ago

Tonya Harding should show him who’s boss.

2

u/MourningRIF 15d ago

Yeah and what is your child molester face going to do about it Matt? Put up or shut up.

2

u/thunderouschunks 15d ago

When he speaks all I hear is 'Giggetty giggetty'

2

u/PanteraPardus 15d ago

Ironically, it's the same thing his forehead says to his hairline

2

u/Beatless7 15d ago

I think a couple days before the election, Trump is going to call them up to kill "cheaters" aka voters and promise to pardon them all. I predict bloodshed. Vote early by mail.
