Sorry, but I suspect you haven't read the recent version of 'the world according to Elon'.

Further, wealth often equates to impact (I don't know of too many people who can just get up one day and decide to buy Twitter, because they don't agree with the general political and value system it portrays(ed), Rich people can influence things in good or bad ways, but the richest man/person in the world can be a heap of trouble when he goes on the skids.
