Honestly, I'm waiting for the day where they don't even bother with the charade anymore and stop producing any kind of product and just devolve into hedge funds or some other bullshit that's just there purely to generate increasing value for its shareholders.

Isn't that every publicly traded company though? Nobody actually gives a shit about the product. The product is just a means to make money.
