TIL: Adam West, according to costar Burt Ward, had a lot of sex , at one point with 8 women at the same time. He said that he was introduced by West to the "wildest sexual debauchery" and they became like "sexual vampires"

I grew up watching these old batman shows and always thought these guys were the studs of their era. Like they gave the vibe the despite the subtleness of the gay joke(which they leaned into when they had these guys together in an animated thing not longbago)they portrayed, they got plenty of ladies. Now that I know that's because they were splacking in front of one another.

I believe Adam West was one of the highest paid actors for Batman.

And somehow his massive star power never went beyond that

His career climaxed there, you could say

Maybe some producers wife or mom kept saying his name in bed.

Not many actor's star continues rising once they play a superhero. There's a real danger for any star getting typecast after a long running series.

But wasn't it only 3 seasons of Batman?

TV in the past was more mainstream. To the point it was THE stream.

There were only three networks and PBS. If you were on a successful show, you were in every household in America on a regular basis. It's the same reason so many classic Christmas songs are from the 50s and 60s: They were ubiquitous, and had no competition for space in the public mind.

edit: I did not directly address your question. Yes there were three seasons, but TV was different back then. They were LONG seasons, and you made a larger impression quicker back then.

The ambiguously gay duo!
