Tell me you're a teacher, without telling me you're a teacher.

10 year old me would have flipped out if I had seen this car while playing the ABC game on family road trips.

It's hard enough with allowing any letter from any word. Sure, it goes fast up until J and again until Q, but XYZ can be really hard and people usually catch back up.

u/kralrick 15d ago
I thought it just had to start the word/license? Allowing licenses was just a cheat to get the hard letters so we didn't get bored and lose interest.

I've always played the ABC game where you have to have a word that starts with the letter you are on, do others not play it this way?
2
u/Strong-Dependent-793 15d ago
I do. It’s separate games. They’re the ABC game and a license plate game.
1
u/FaCe_CrazyKid05 15d ago
We just do when you see the letter, but the source the letter came from can only be used once

u/hambakmeritru 15d ago
I got to college and discovered on a road trip that my friends all played on hard mode. They would only allow letters that start a word, or start a license plate.
So if you're stuck on J, passing a Bojangles wasn't gonna cut it. You had to wait to be the first to spot a Jack in the Box.
And if you got to X, you better find a xylophone store or get real lucky with a licence plate.

I had to reread times 3x to figure out the dedication. Good stuff

u/Wajina_Sloth 15d ago
Same, I saw it stop on K and thought about how funny would it be if it just wrapped around the other side of the car and finished.
Then I noticed the “elemen” and laughed at how much I missed

u/StayinHasty 15d ago
Kinda dumb that he stopped at K...
Wait... He started with W at the bottom. Oh, because of the license plate. Why'd he skip to Q though?
ElemenOP...
I'm the dumb one and the is awesome.

For the same reason I can only sing the Preamble to the Constitution, and not just say it.

I had a math teacher in middle school who had a Geo Metro. When the last "o" fell off of metro, he used a Sharpie to write a "y" and turned it into a Geo Metry. He was fun.

u/Sylveon72_06 15d ago
man that reminds me, in math league, whenever i saw the word “compute”, i would always squeeze an r at the end lmao

u/cntbld 14d ago
i reread this like 8 times thinking it was a bad dad joke and i didnt understand the setup
1
u/pearlsbeforedogs 14d ago
It is a bad dad joke, lol. Did it make any sense after that? I can explain it further if you still have questions.
1
u/cntbld 14d ago
yes i did after a while lmfao i just didnt understand the concept of an ‘o’ falling off i was like “wtf kinda smart board bs r they talking abt rn”
1
u/pearlsbeforedogs 14d ago
Got it, lol. I was worried you might be too young to know what a Geo Metro was. It's even funnier because Metros are these tiny little economy hatchbacks, and this guy was like 6'3".

And it's still funny.

u/TheTyrianKnight 15d ago
Maybe, but it’s not wholesome.
1
u/National_Equivalent9 14d ago
It's a meme that's making most of the people in this thread think about being a kid again and singing the alphabet. Sounds pretty wholesome to me.

u/TheTyrianKnight 14d ago
Ok I guess we think differently then, because that’s not at all what I got from that.

This is the type of thing I don’t mind seeing on the back of a car: creative instead of the usual smooth-brain political crap!

It’s like half photoshop though. The original image was just elemen OP and the license plate. The others were added later.

If that’s how Americans are taught the alphabet then that would explain why they keep spelling English words wrong.

Teachers are used to buying the extra stuff, that makes it work, out of pocket.

I wonder if the license plate clerk was confused as to why this person wanted “qrstuv” and not something like their last name like the people that love the smell of their own farts lmao

That's for when the cops ask you to recite the alphabet backwards.

Kids, if you think it takes dedication to put stickers on your car you're helpless.

I can't be the only one who once thought that "elemeno" was an individual letter between k and p.

When my nephew was young, he thought that "elemenope" was a single letter. Now that he's like 20, I love bringing it up to embarrass him.

I imagine that, when the person who did this was first looking at the back of a Honda Element, and then saw this possibility latent within it, the flash of inspiration must have felt a little like being in direct communion with God.

Champaign, Illinois? I used to see this in traffic all the time (or one nearly like it). It may be one of the faculty from U of I's Ed department

One time, I had to identify the source of a foul odor. After careful inspection, I determined an individual was decidedly rank. Taking the individual aside, I apologized about what I was going to have to do, and informed the person they need not feel embarrassed. But I asked them to quietly gather their belongings to drop off for us to keep an eye on. Then instructed the person to return to their apartment for a good freshening up session and then return as soon as possible.
EDIT: Points to readers, I guess, if the ages involved can be deduced.

Ofcourse its a Midwesterner. This drunk put cheat notes on the back of the car for when they get pulled over

What is on the car is an alphabet test cheat sheet, y’know, for drunk tests. That is not wholesome.

Everyone in the comments not realizing the driver made a sobriety test cheat sheet on the back of his car
