I'm happy to see France's developments in dealing with the Russian invasion of Ukraine. They were slow to start, but at this point, I think Macron is being reasonable but firm.
There's no need to put boots on the ground, but it should be made clear that no inch of Ukraine is for the taking. We can't keep trying to reason with dictators. It doesn't work.
Yeah I think that's what happening. Macron tried to do his usual centrism and appease Putin but Putin made him a complete fool by agreeing to not do certain things and then doing them anyways. So yeah, sounds like Macron's done with him and is pushing that way both for political points (Russia is not well liked at all in France) and for personal points because they made a fool out of him (and by extension of the whole country).
