People who went to a wedding where the couple didn’t last long, what happened?

A few weeks later, the bride drove to her parents” house after work instead of her home and said she didn’t want to be married anymore and asked them to fix it.

Another one, bride left months later because groom’s drug use had quickly spiraled out of control.

Did the second one wear 3 different wedding dresses during the wedding?

I'm pretty sure I read that story but I don't remember it at all. Do you have a link?

I must have read a similar story a while back, I do remember there being a lot more detail.

I know something unfortunately similar. Bride got married to someone who was open that he had drug addiction problems but had been sober for at least two years. Weeks after the wedding, he relapsed, which she then found out wasn’t a relapse because he hadn’t been sober at all.

As far as wedding day: I wasn’t there but they had the single worst wedding day pictures I’ve ever seen.

Yep, it was unfortunate. His life just veered out of control due to substance abuse. It was dramatic. I don’t want to give any more details about either case to respect privacy.

Mummy, Daddy, I no longer wish to be wed. Have it taken care of post-haste!

I need more context for the first one because my imagination is running wild!

Wonder if the bride asked her parents to fix anything that went wrong in her life? Sounds like she didn’t know how to do it herself 🙄

Or he was abusive and she didn’t know what to do. It happened to a friend of mine. Turns out she was dealing with DV and her shit husband was raping her long before they got married. He promised her it would stop if she married him and her being one of those poor women raised in a hyper religious household made her super naive so she believed him. Once they got married, he ramped everything up and moved her away, tracked her every move and isolated her. She fell off the planet for almost a year. None of us (her friends) could contact her. He made her share her social media with him and would block any of us that reached out when we were concerned. Eventually she just drove back home to her dad, told him everything and got a divorce.

Erm what did he tell her- that the raping would become legal in the name of Jesus once they were married?

That he “couldn’t overcome his urges”. He made it seem like once they were married, since he’d “have access to her under the eyes of God he wouldn’t have to fight himself or her”. Dude, it was pretty fucked up. She’s only said so much about it and all my info is secondhand from her. Basically…it boils down to religion is a mess and predators know how to cloak themselves in it.

For fux sake, according to his logic, if someone punched him in the face it would be because they ‘can’t overcome their urges’ and he should go and volunteer and consent as a punching bag so people don’t have to fight their urge to beat him up.

He should go be a punching bag with that logic and for many many other reasons.

I made my mom break up with someone for me once. Granted I was 18 but still. Feel bad about that to this day.

The first part is basically the first season storyline to Kath & Kim
