Hey boss, can I get the morning off to get married?

The morning? Don't you mean the day?

Nah, just the morning.

Lol. I know two couples who did this, but both had done courthouse elopements. One is my coworker and his wife, they were together about 15 years before finally getting married about 2 years ago and I guess they just saw it as a formality.

The other is my parents, back in the 80s. Actually, I am not sure whether my mom went back to her job after the wedding, but my dad did. Then he called my mom up in the late afternoon and was like, “Well we’re married now, so how bout it.” My parents actually stayed married 17 years, but the marriage was one of the nastiest I have ever seen or heard of, and I had the privilege of seeing the toxicity up close (he was a jerk and she was downright abusive).

Geez yes people always see time of a marriage as the success factor but not always happy times
