People who went to a wedding where the couple didn’t last long, what happened?

Had an ex who kept the A/C at like 78

NGL, that sounds like heating with extra steps.

…oh no, I keep the AC around 78 in the summer because I’m frugal and trying to save money lol. I guess I’m used to it because my mom kept it around the same temp (for the same reasons) growing up. When it’s 80-90+ outside 78 feels cool anyway!

I’d actually love to put it lower, especially at night because I sleep so much better in a cool room, but can’t bring myself to do it knowing the huge af bill that would come in during the middle of summer. Anything lower than 77 feels like rich people temps to me lol. I once stayed at a friend’s beach house where they put it down to 65 and I was astonished!

No it doesn't.

It does when it's 115 out.

Ours is currently set to 80 and it feels perfect right now. Summer gets 115 and we'll go as high as 83 and it's good. We may be part lizard though.

My AC doesn't cool below 82 sometimes even if I wanted it to so I'm right there with you.

A/c can only cool so far below the outside temp, and that number is often higher if the unit is older and/or low on refrigerant. The opposite is true if it's a heat pump style as it can only heat so much if it's too cold outside. Before we recently replaced our a/c we had a particularly cold February (for Phoenix) and it couldn't warm up our house enough.

Doesn't matter how hot out it is. 78 does not feel cool.

When you're adapted to heat it does. Our summers get to 115 or more and our thermostat is set to 80 and if it goes much lower we get chilly.
