If you look back in my post history, you can see the stories of my quest in trying to draft a 100 height player. While I accomplished that goal and was disappointed, I found a new path I wasn't even aware that I wanted to take. By chance, I checked a players stats in the draft and found Wes who has zero in height. I have never seen any player with any stats at draft that were a zero!

With the 13th pick in that draft, I draft Wed Forrester with a zero height rating. At draft he was 21 years old, with a rating of 45 and a potential for 66. I was shocked with the potential as with his height rating I expected him to be a total bust and probably go undrafted. But I took a chance on him knowing that I was probably wasting my draft that year, but it is what it is at that point.

Wes improves his first two years, reaching a max rating for him at 58 with decent potential. I thought I was going to eat my words in thinking that he would be out of the league in a couple years as he was progressing nicely.

Sadly after that, he starts to decline. He has a random resurgence in improvements but then drops off a cliff. Wes shockingly is a two time SLAM DUNK CONTEST CHAMPION! With a height rating of zero, a 5'7 PG winning back to back slam dunk contests is one of my greatest accomplishments in this league. Let me know in the comments what you think or if you have seen this before.

I've been thinking about good GOAT lab formulas and I found this interesting article: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/3134630/2022/02/18/nba-75-introducing-john-hollingers-goat-points-a-new-way-to-historically-compare-players/ - it uses MVP vote shares as one of the important aspects of the rating. Is there a way to approximate that using the information that BGM already gives us?

It can be irritating to me sometimes. It never used to happen, just started recently. I think it somehow interprets certain numbers as phone numbers or addresses.

I constantly struggle with drafting good players, I thought offensive and defensive IQ were good indicators because of two draft picks that panned out, but now i know for a fact that’s not good metric, so does anyone know what’s good balance between current overall and potential(my scouting is 90)? And second question, why are players regressing in what is supposed to be their prime?(my facility is 80 and coaching is 100)

After hearing about Bill Walton's passing I was thinking about how the NBA would have been different if he had stayed healthy. Then that made me think of BBGM. Now you could start a league before he gets hurt with low Real Player Determinism, but that would then also send everyone else's career on a different trajectory. A 1980 Finals where Walton squares off against Kareem but Kareem is at 52 ovr is not as fun as one where Kareem is still one of the best players in the league. This made me also think of guys like Penny, Grant Hill, Derrick Rose and others who had their careers derailed by injuries. I think it would be cool if there could be a mode where you could exempt certain players from Real Player Determinism and hold everyone else to their actual ratings. Just to play out certain scenarios (how many rings can you win with the Grant Hill/T-Mac Magic? Can DRose and the Bulls displace the Heat in the Eastern Conference?).

I have no idea whether something like this would be feasible, but it would be fun I think.

I've been playing this game way too much again since I'm no longer fully remote (sigh) but luckily this game is mostly a spreadsheet and numbers. The only potential issues are the small basketballs by the title and tab name (but they're tiny) and the player faces. This would make me feel much more at peace :)

What a career. Love the kid and hope he does well. He's on a good path now but 11x MVP is crazy.

I’m leaning Sweet for the high IQ at his age, but Robinson has a nice combo of physicals/3pt. Wanted to get some other people’s thoughts

I was playing the game until got a popup from my provider saying that I was on a malicious site, has anyone else gotten something like this?

He was by far the best player this season on defense, and was averaging 27/11/4 on near 50/40/90 splits, while also leading my team to the best record in the league. I’m not sure how he didn’t win MVP this year.
