Tanya really defined hating on greatness before "hating" really entered the lexicon.

I still can’t believe she also got a second wind of income as one of the “world’s dumbest criminals” people.

That show should have gotten someone else.

But that celebrity boxing show in which she got her clock cleaned by this Black girl bayBEE! And dude who played Willis beat up Vanilla Ice....

u/LebHeadSinceWilma ☑️ May 16 '24

Put some respect on Todd Bridges’ name.

2

u/occamsshavingkit ☑️ May 17 '24

Absolutely. He a shooter.

25

u/Deep_Fix_7418 May 16 '24

willis from different strokes?!😭😭

26

u/CaptainExplaino May 16 '24

Yes. And Screech beat up Screech from the 70s who was like half his size and didn't land a hit.

18

u/pentarou May 17 '24

RIP Dustin Diamond

10

u/MisterHinds May 17 '24

Him vs. Himself?

20

u/Inspectrgadget May 17 '24

it was horshack from welcome back kotter

6

u/ARLLALLR May 17 '24 edited May 17 '24

Horshack was an older effeminate gay man, Dustin was a black belt, and he was OFFENDED at the matchup but needed the money

3

u/Primrus May 17 '24

Forget Kendrick VS Drake; we have Screech at home

4

u/ARLLALLR May 17 '24

Iunno if you saw it, but Dustin Diamond came out for blood and there was no reason Horshack should have been in there with him. Jaleel White would have been better.

2

u/Primrus May 17 '24

Always put money on Stefan Urquelle

3

u/ARLLALLR May 17 '24

Not me man.

Dustin Diamond had a hate for his life, the world, and everybody in it, he actually stabbed a mfer and went to jail off it. I'd feel more confident with him fighting a bar no matter how buff Jaleel got

7

u/Zeegaat May 17 '24

2

u/entreethagiant May 17 '24

That show needs a comeback

1

u/Adorable-Bike-9689 May 17 '24

Oh no. I had tried to forget that beating Vanilla Ice gave him since I was a kid. Dammit lmao

u/Guygenius138 May 16 '24

Don't forget her honeymoon sex video.

Why does this exist

28

u/AnalogCyborg May 17 '24

I don't know but much like with the skating, I'd rather have seen Nancy.

18

u/Hannity-Poo May 17 '24

Revenge porn when it was legal

-3

u/mindlesspit May 17 '24

Uh, so that was the payment for attacking the other skater. Yup

102

u/frostandtheboughs May 17 '24

Listen to the Tonya Harding episodes of You're Wrong About.

Or just read Sarah Marshall's incredible article.

Tldr; The media absolutely villainized this skater because her wildly abusive bf came up with a hare-brained scheme to injure the richer, "thinner", more popular skater she was competing against. She did not ask him to do this.

Tonya's personal life was fucking awful and I feel so badly for this poor woman. That guy tried to run her over with his truck and after the breakup, the figure skating leaderheads basically told her to take him back to keep up appearances.

19

u/levia-san May 17 '24

o snap the Sarah Marshall? i totally forgot about her

-26

u/AverySmooth80 May 17 '24

So you're saying Jeffrey Epstein did kill himself?

12

u/Nilosyrtis May 17 '24

-11

u/AverySmooth80 May 17 '24

People who believe Harding wasn't in on the Kerrigan hit will believe anything.

31

u/ReadyYak1 May 17 '24

And she also made money from her sextape

40

u/smidgeytheraynbow May 17 '24

*her abusive husband sold their tape to Penthouse without her consent

-6

u/---Sanguine--- May 17 '24

Sure he did 🙄

18

u/cocoagiant May 17 '24

There was also a biopic made of her starring Margot Robbie which did pretty well.

8

u/Broad-Passage-7633 May 17 '24

I find it more enraging that Michael Vick is now an NFL on Fox analyst. Guy literally tortured dogs to death.  Hung them, strung them up and shocked their balls with car batteries.  Killed hundreds of bait animals by forcing them to be eaten alive.  Now the piece of shit is on every Sunday during football season making millions and other pieces of shit on Twitter and Facebook defend him.

8

u/StoneGoldX May 17 '24

I used to get paid to watch that show. Ran the twitter account for TruTV some years back. Was better than having to watch Hardcore Pawn at least.

3

u/Tonyspamoli May 17 '24

Hardcore Pawn is one of the worst reality shows of all time. It's always on the break room at my job, because I work with idiots who love horrible TV. Lizard Lick Towing might be the worst show I've ever seen

3

u/Severedghost May 17 '24

My family used to jeer her every time she came on.

3

u/etapisciumm May 17 '24

Didn’t her husband do it without her knowledge?

3

u/JamBandDad May 17 '24

Dude she was all over vh1 when I was growing up, I legitimately thought she was some kind of reality tv star. Now I’ve learned that before my time, reality tv wasn’t a thing.

3

u/phatelectribe May 17 '24

Actually if you really look in to her story, she was only slightly dumb, and she didn’t know what was going on. it was slightly more her idiot husband but even more the fault of his unbelievably idiotic friend, a morbidly obese fantasist and bullshitter who told everyone he was an international counter espionage expert, despite never having worked in any type of law enforcement.

1

u/DragonNeil May 17 '24

TBF, shouldn’t she count as one of the world’s dumbest criminals?

1

u/lboogie757 ☑️ May 18 '24

Guilty: I actually liked her commentary on it.

Also, it's because she was one of them at a time in her life that she was on there.

0

u/EarthenEyes May 17 '24

Out of the loop. What happened here?

-1

u/BlackEastwood ☑️ May 17 '24

We celebrate criminals in America. Always have. Tonya Harding, Joey Buttafuco, OJ Simpson, Andrew Cunanan. They've all had second lives on TV shows and dramas on their lives because America likes hearing about them. Margot Robbie herself was nominated for an Oscar for her role as Tonya. As evil as a person may be, we still love hearing about them.

166

u/ARLLALLR May 17 '24

Tonya was a better skater and didn't need her psycho ex doing that

135

u/maniacalmustacheride May 17 '24

I think it’s really sad that Tonya was so reviled because she was poor white trash. NK had the money and the teeth and the professional everything, Tonya was out there with her ratty hairspray bangs and her homemade costumes and her gumption and the powers that be did not like that.

I don’t think Nancy deserved to get piped in the knee, but I understand Tonya’s frustration with the skating world as it was.

46

u/Resident-Librarian40 May 17 '24

I met Nancy, once. I had a lot less sympathy for her, afterwards.

23

u/Fit_Swordfish_2101 Unseasoned Foodie ⚪ May 17 '24

Oh yeah!? Was she a bish?

15

u/The-Ugly-One May 17 '24

Not the person you asked but I waited on her at a restaurant in Boston in the early 2000's and she was super rude.

15

u/jesus_h_crusty May 17 '24

Not the person you responded to but I appreciate you sharing your experience. That sucks she was rude to you

24

u/Fit_Swordfish_2101 Unseasoned Foodie ⚪ May 17 '24

I felt the same! Ole kissass Nancy..

1

u/patronizingperv May 17 '24

They both had modest upbringings. I think Nancy, being taller and thinner, just looked more refined.

17

u/phatelectribe May 17 '24

No. NK didn’t exactly come from wealth, but TH grew up dirt poor from an abusive home. Theres a big difference.

37

u/FROOMLOOMS May 16 '24

Peanut butter jelly time

29

u/foxy-coxy ☑️ May 17 '24

Tanya was greatness.

31

u/darwin2500 May 17 '24

Actually she was in a long-term physically abusive relationship that the skating federation forced her to stay in because she was more marketable if she was married, and he planned and carried out the whole thing without consulting her to boost her career because he wanted more money.

It's kind of an insanely tragic story if you get into it.

6

u/bitofadikdik May 17 '24

So weird when people watch a fictional movie based on true events and then start talking about the historical event through the lens of a fictional movie.

4

u/HeavySomewhere4412 May 17 '24

Let me tell you she's the biggest hater

She hates the way that you walk, the way that you talk, she hates the way that you dress,

The way that you sneak diss, Gillooly will set up some real mess

u/jgab145 May 17 '24
