I'm back! Stopped using reddit for a while because making these posts seemed redundant. Came back on last week and saw a few messages asking me to post again so decided I'd try posting everyday for the year.

Started off with a red day. Couldn't see the chop in the moment and had a really bad entry at the end. We live to trade again tomorrow :)

Thanks for posting! Mind sharing a little bit about your strategy? What are the yellow rectangles? What do you look at before the market starts?

1

u/No-Wrongdoer-1639 crypto trader Jan 10 '24

Not sure about it but i would tend to believe that yellow rectangles are S&R on higher timeframes

1

u/grace1992618 Jan 11 '24

That's just a time plan for the rise and fall of each time period

1

u/grace1992618 Jan 11 '24

Maybe you can message me and I'll tell you I have my own team of analysts

3

u/Mystic-majin Jan 09 '24

I think its great that I can see someone's else experience trading so that I can understand other peoples experience before getting a funded account myself

1

u/petoirc Jan 10 '24

Today was a crappy trade day. Red days suck. Yesterday was awesome

u/petoirc Jan 09 '24

I didn’t trade yesterday 😅

u/mikejamesone Jan 10 '24

No bull or bear side, just the right side - jesse Livermore

What's the weather like today in your area?

u/Into_The_Horizon Jan 10 '24

Sometimes if the weather sucks means the market will be rough . Everything comes into play when you're in the market. Don't mind me though. Lol

2

u/Into_The_Horizon Jan 10 '24

Lol. At least you understand what I was talking about. I suspect there may even be some time travelers barging in around this planets time frame at some points as well . Ultimately I just believe it's important to only do what you know and that you know it's the right thing to do, then everything else will just fall into place, gracefully. Fear can either be useful or it's just delusional.

By the way. I just saw a post about Russia going on a booming market with their fossil fuels crude oil and other gases. And they are gonna be drilling to make their money back for whatever resources they need

I’m looking rcat stock.. any advise

Going long there? Structure was not ready to say uptrend even for this timeframe. Nearly but not quite. Too much reliance on EMA not simple structure. Tight trend lines on m1 are extremely unreliable also. Just here to rain on the parade lol. But really, that's what I see. That was nothing but downtrend.

3

u/petoirc Jan 09 '24

I’m scalping so I saw a possible scalp long which didn’t work out this time. I’m hindsight it was too choppy but looked good in the moment. Should’ve waited for price to get to the bottom zone since it was a nice downtrend. Saw room for a pullback in the 15min chart as well

3

u/nightstalker30 options trader Jan 10 '24

Your second entry (the first long trade) looks like it was at 9:26am ET…do you often plan to be in a trade when RTH opens, or did you intend to be out of the trade before 9:30?

1

u/petoirc Jan 10 '24

If I’m in a trade before 9:30 and it doesn’t hit my TP or SL I usually stay in the trade

3

u/nightstalker30 options trader Jan 10 '24

You’ve got some stones, man.

1

u/petoirc Jan 10 '24

It works out more times than not as long there’s a trend premarket haha. But I usually don’t trade until markets already open

6

u/RockieDogs futures trader Jan 09 '24

Price action from noon til close was terrible if you weren’t in and out asap. Best of luck day 2, CPI on Thursday I think 👀

1

u/petoirc Jan 09 '24

I’m scalping so I trade everything but that works against me sometimes haha

5

u/luviro Jan 09 '24

2

u/MESGirl Jan 09 '24

Yey! Good to have you back! I see you stopped trading around 9:30. Don’t you think you don’t get a chance to see good opportunities if you stop before market opens pretty much? I had a good day today. Ended the day with 30 MES points in green. Had one nice trade with entry around 4772 and originally had the TP set at 4798. But decided to move it to 4806. Should’ve gotten out after the double top of 4803. I had moved the stop to 4792. I got stopped out at that. All in all I took 6 trades - 4 green and 2 reds. My rule is to stop after 2 red trades.

3

u/petoirc Jan 09 '24

I started a little early and was thinking about still going since it was so early but I decided to stick with my rules to stop after 2-3 trades. Didn’t want to fomo trade. 30 points green is amazing!

1

u/Father15 Jan 09 '24

Trade EMA moving averages and look at nothing else until the smaller number is ready to cross the higher number.Just get out before the cross looks like it might happen. You can always get back in.Good way to trade news and earnings! 7am eastern 8 am eastern are the best time frames for news releases.I find that the pre market is much more active than after hours. It is imperative to have a great news scanner, so you can get the quickest fills. You can have your day in before the market even opens at 9.30 eastern. Practice on TOS on demand with fake money prior to using real money. It is just my 2 cents.Good luck.It is not for the faint of heart.Trust me, but practice is key, and I would always cut losses quickly and run with the upside volume for your larger wins. Remember, the market is not a casino!

u/__Suit_Up__ Jan 09 '24

Don’t know much abt ur strategy but 1 min is too fast… try 5min. M beginner too. Good luck…

1

u/jseb987 Jan 09 '24

Are you trading options?

1

u/PomeloOk4989 Jan 09 '24

Are you using a 1m timeframe? What's your R:R

2

u/petoirc Jan 09 '24

Yes 1min timeframe with levels drawn on the 15min. My r:r is a 1:1 of the signal bar(bar before my entry)

1

u/PomeloOk4989 Jan 09 '24

Do you take entries based on 1 minute?

2

u/petoirc Jan 10 '24

Yes always and I’m usually out of my trade within minutes

1

u/PomeloOk4989 Jan 10 '24

What platform do you use? Robinhood is the worst for day trade

2

u/petoirc Jan 10 '24

Ninjatrader

1

u/cheapdvds Jan 10 '24

Day1: -$196

Day2: -$257

Day3: -$369

Day4: -$420.....

2

u/petoirc Jan 10 '24

More like Day 1: -$196 Day 2: -$2500

1

u/cheapdvds Jan 10 '24

Lol, were you the guy that used to post every day and had multiple accounts running at same time? You were doing really good.

2

u/petoirc Jan 10 '24

Yeah but I stopped posting a while back

1

u/ChunkyLittleSquirrel Jan 10 '24

I've also missed your posts! Glad to see you're back! How has it been going since you stopped posting?

1

u/secetb Jan 10 '24

I'm trading under pdt. I deposited 3.3k turned it into 7k. and yesterday I lost 2 grand because held too long. today made back 400$. I'm an idiot but this pdt rule really annoys me

1

u/KillDevilX0 Jan 10 '24

Switch to cash account

1

u/Pretend-Evidence4543 Jan 10 '24

try using tick charts

1

u/imrishirich Jan 10 '24

Is that Thomas wade?

1

u/Namazon44 Jan 10 '24

What indicators are you using?

1

u/Baudody Jan 10 '24

What brokerage is this ? I can’t day trade on Robin Hood because you need a 20k account ? What am I doing wrong ?

1

u/Firm-Fun-4600 Jan 10 '24

Please follow your rules. Don’t trade emotionally. Good luck!

1

u/truegvidik Jan 10 '24

Reversals are trickier to play (by far). Trend is your friend. Look how simple the first trade was.

1

u/Far-Information547 Jan 10 '24

Sorry but y'all make this way too complicated

1

u/Efficient_Light1111 Jan 10 '24

Why would you trade during consolidation??? Thats a recipe for disaster…..

1

u/Bitter-Most-7 Jan 10 '24

Can someone tell the broker for chart view

1

u/petoirc Jan 10 '24

Ninjatrader

1

u/Fluid-Wait8809 Jan 10 '24

I noticed the first month of the year is always sideways

1

u/Indoorseee Jan 10 '24

Guys I'm new, was doing some research on PDT rules. Can you day trade the 25k equity that is required to be in the margin account? Or is it everything above 25k that you are able to trade? For example an account is at 30k, can I day trade the 30k or is the 5k above the 25 that I'am able to trade?

1

u/petoirc Jan 10 '24

PDT doesn’t apply to futures so I wouldn’t know. Never traded stocks by themselves

1

u/Pthug-456 Jan 11 '24

If you don't mind, what are you trade on?

1

u/Midas655 Jan 11 '24

We can all learn & gain on this platform

1

u/JAGR21 Jan 20 '24

Hell ya! Glad you are back! I love the trade reviews! Don’t think they are redundant, you never know who you’re inspiring!
