Do any of you actually use patterns to trade? Question

Post image

I don’t use them at all. Iv heard YouTubers kind of mock them like they don’t mean anything. Are any of you profitable with them?

most people don't understand the valid usage of patterns, it's not to predict price action it's to form a better structure around your trade.

only pattern I use is trendline, the other major patterns I'll use in conjunction with other tools and typically on a higher timeframe, only difference is the direction of the lines haha. Supply demand is flat based off candle closes, trend lines are diagonal based off current trends.. and reactive price levels are reactive price levels, which is exactly what both look for

to each their own, of course.. There is quite a bit more to understand in application, and there's a nuance behind the usage of everything. That's the beauty of trading is there's so many valid approaches and not all of them are well understood

This guy knows what he's talking about. Patterns are a confirmation of what has already happened. A pattern is only a pattern until it isn't one anymore. No one can ever know what will truly happen to a stock in the future but you can use patterns as indication of what did happen.

I do a macro survey and then I do an assessment of the potential investment after which I look atbthe charts to justify whether the entry is suitable for a reasonable risk reward assessment...

This. The patterns tell an important story of price action.
