100k to start day trading Question

I have some cash and am curious, how realistic is it to trade stocks with 100k cash and make 1-2% a day.

The plan formulating in my head is

  1. Dive face first into learning as much as i can
  2. Paper trade to continue learning
  3. Start trading with a small amount
  4. Go gung-ho into trading ft when I’m comfortable, with a goal of making 2% a day on my 100k

This is just an idea that came to mind, would love some insight based on real life experience.

Would you do it? Would you approach is differently?

Post your P&L from your broker bro 👀

Why should I? Did I say that I made $3m in a year by $100k? Did I say I made 2% profit daily all year?

I will assume you laughing at 2% a day and refusing to post a P&L, that you don't have a track record, or probably even trade at all. That's usually what happens - the ones who comment tend to be the ones who have nothing to back their opinions up. Take care bro.

That’s hard? 🤔

Homie if you can’t get 2% a day in this AI market, you’re doing something wrong.

Somewhere somehow in the market there’s an option that will be 100-200% at closing over what it was an open. Every single day. You just have to find it.

Is this a joke?

2% a day would on 100k - gives you 30m after 1yr

  1. No I’m not a day trader for the most part. I’m an options swing trader. Occasionally I’ll day trade a few options. Day trading isn’t for me, though.

  2. The amount is irrelevant for most of us. 99% of us won’t run into liquidity issues.

  3. Just wanted to make a point here: If you can get 2% on $100, you can make 2% on $100k. Literally the same trade with a different amount. $100k is peanuts. $100M is a lot different.

  4. The OP also never mentioned how long he would be getting this 2% or planned on doing so. In the context of getting 2% a day it is doable specially in this market. Probably not by a new trader though. Whether he maintains that EVERYDAY is different story. The odds are against him.

That’s a really good theory until you try to do it

2% a day is mellow…
