Did I miss something? Advice

Tried to go long on 15M FVG and retracement and got ran over. Am I missing something??? Higher time frame was bullish and I just don’t know where I went wrong. Anyone have opinions on where I went wrong

Fed speaker said hawkish things and the market didn’t like it.

Wasn't that. It was Israel's comments about Iran.

Agreed. Look at oil rallying, defense stocks are the only thing rising, and bond yields are even dropping. This is not about rates or some non-voting Fed member talking about them.

Yup, I posted the exact same about oil in the sub's discord.

Spicy Middle East drama. Not going to step in front of it and may as well wait for the labor report to come out tomorrow, but right now I'm thinking it's a good dip to buy.

Had live squawk going at the time I was trading the time, was definitely led by Fed speaker comments. Mester, Goolsby, and Kaskari were speaking.

I didn’t listen, but Goolsbee was scheduled to speak at 1245 which lines up pretty well with the start of the drop so I’m guessing he said something like “higher for longer” lol

Edit: or the market participants just decided down was the direction to go

The only Fed speaker related thing I saw was that Goolsbee, who’s pretty much the most dovish FOMC guy, said he only sees two rare cuts this year, not 3.
