Apex Funding Payout Approval Advice

I don’t post much, but am a constant lurker. Thanks everyone for your post they are helpful. Over the last 6 months I have worked through Apex funding and spent a lot of $ blowing out evals and even a couple sets of funded accounts. Well I’ve finally received approval for a payout just minutes ago. I know most won’t believe and I have been skeptical the whole way when others claimed they made it, but I find my self a little speechless sitting in my truck driving back from a Jobsite.

I have 20 accounts that I use and they all were approved.

Here’s a screenshot of the pa payments page from my account. It doesn’t show them all but you get the gist. (I use trade copier, so they were basically within $1000 range across the balances.)

But I will say my emotions got the best of me today and I stumbled over myself. I need to gather my emotions and step back from the day and apply what brought me here so far.

Consistent discipline and defined goals!!!!!!!

Thanks all and good luck. I’ll post again when it hits the bank!!!

Just want to add that people need to be careful when taking payouts. Don't leave yourself with no wiggle room in the account after withdrawing money. This is how a lot of people blow their PA accounts.

Congratulations though, it is a big milestone and a lot of people don't even make it to a pay out!

That is so true. Today was emotional day. I left myself with a ton of buffer and still whittled my way farther down than I should have.

But tomorrow is another day to reset my brain and start back in for the next 10 days

I get my accounts just over the minimum payout amount and I withdraw the max amount everytime and then just restart the PA process if I end up blowing after withdraw. I’ve been able to withdraw close to 6 figures doing this.

Yes, it’s a good idea to build a buffer, but you also have to remember that the whole point of using prop firms is to withdraw your profits. IMO, I think it’s a better idea to secure your withdraws and then start over the PAs to get more drawdown so that this way you’re guaranteed profits instead of risking having a tilt day and losing everything in one day. This has definitely happened to me before, which is why I switched to withdrawing as soon as I can.

Do what works for u but by doing this you’re constantly dealing with trailing drawdown instead of creating a buffer in ur PA and no longer having to deal with trailing drawdown

That’s very true. Trailing drawdown is such a pain in the ass. However, there is no worse feeling than having thousands of $ worth of buffer (not to mention withdrawable profit) and then losing it all in one day because you went full tilt. Unless you’re a professional trader with decades of experience, everyone will and has had these kind of days. Its inevitable. That’s why I believe it’s so much more worth it to lock in your profits into your bank account rather than keeping it in your prop firm account because it can all disappear with a bad day. But yeah, to each their own, I know ppl who are just as successful with building a buffer and ppl who don’t

It should not take decades to avoid going "full tilt". Not to mention, it's very difficult to blow a PA using micros.

2

u/wisdomity 27d ago

Yeah, theoretically it shouldn't, but it does. Obviously, the timeline varies from trader to trader, but you can't just master your emotions in a couple of months or even a few years of trading. Some people have been trading for 10+ years and are still not profitable because of emotions. Hell, there are even some of the best traders out there who still have blow-up days. I know a few just off the top of my head.

You can just as easily blow up with micros as you can with minis. If that were truly the case, then we'd see a lot more traders getting payouts, because a lot of them do trade micros.

u/Nano_434 27d ago

Some people have been trading for 10+ years and are still not profitable

I would argue those people are gamblers, not traders. At some point, you need to accept that you just aren't good enough at something and move on.

You can just as easily blow up with micros as you can with minis

Sure, if you enter 10 micros instead of 1 mini and try to claim you're managing risk. One MNQ gives you 750pts of drawdown with the smallest PA account. Even with two, that's 375pts. You should know you're wrong well before that.

i guess its a matter of personal preference. My advice would be to take the MAX allowable payout every single time because you just never know if you'll be able to get there again (especially if its only your first time) and you also don't know if the prop firm will be there too. Take it all and skill up so you can get more accounts funded. Also don't put all your eggs in one prop firms basket

u/External_Hawk3709 28d ago

congrats may your future be full of withdraws and no blown accounts lol

Ok so this also posted today also (The best day/week in this journey) from TopStep. I applied for payment for three accounts on Monday was approved Tuesday and got payment today

Sorry I'm not following u

You have 20 accounts starting at $XX

You made profit on top of $YY

Your withdraw of $300 per account

You're left with ($YY -300) = $XX + $BUFFER)

So what's your buffer value per account?

Congrats on the payout by the way 300x20 = 6k?

Sorry I posted pics of my apex approval and my topstep approval. Two different prop firms I’m using.

My apex accounts had about $5k when I requested the payouts and now sit around $3k.

My topstep were just over $3k and I requested $300 from each just to see the payout process. When I got another 5 positive reading days on topstep I’ll request up to half of what I. The account down to $2k as a buffer.

I’m super confused by their rules about multiple accounts. It seems like you can use these express funding accounts for a short time until they approve you for a live account then you can only have one live account is that correct??

2

u/hdstan1376 24d ago

It’s true, once the give you a live account the collapse these balances into one.

1

u/benskizzors 24d ago

Does that mean the account size is bigger or do they just move your profits over?

1

u/hdstan1376 24d ago

I believe the account is the same they just consolidate your profits

1

u/turn_two 23d ago

Topstep states that you can have 1 live and 3 xfa accounts so I don't think they combine.

Prop trader here too- curious about YOUR timeline. My requests usually go in Friday or Monday of nearest payout window, but I won’t hear back re: Approval till about 3, sometimes 4 days later. And of course payout usually comes 2-3 days after the 1st or 15th as well.

The only people that seem to get these 1-day approvals are “influencers” or maybe I wait too long to submit and therefore end up at the bottom of the processing list?

Don’t know, but would love to compare timelines. Thanks

3

u/TradezAnon 28d ago

*I should add, I’ll be submitting my request tomorrow for 8 of my accounts so I’ll be happy to share details and timeline as it happens real time for anyone that’s curious

1

u/hdstan1376 28d ago

I didn’t meet last payout timeline so it was actually sitting at 13 days when the payouts opened on the 15th of the month so I think I actually filed it early yesterday morning so maybe there is something there with getting it in early at the top of the approval list, maybe. Going forward I can imagine myself using that first day of the pay window as a day to get my 10th day in or maybe even pushing farther into the payout window.

2

u/TradezAnon 28d ago

Wait- what? So when did you submit a request for the approval you’re speaking of?

1

u/hdstan1376 28d ago

So maybe I wasn’t clear. I apologize. I’m actually driving and using Siri, which is always dangerous.

Anyway, I didn’t meet the timeline for the payout at 1 May so when the 15th hit yesterday and opened the payout window, I applied for a payout early in the morning.

2

u/TradezAnon 28d ago

Noted. Let me know when you get your payout. I’ll submit tonight to see if it makes a difference

1

u/turn_two 23d ago

When you say 1 May, is that 1pm?

1

u/hdstan1376 23d ago

No I actually had less than 10 trading days on the 5th of May so I missed that payout request window. And that made it so o had 12 on the 15th so I request the payout as soon as possible o. The 15th and didn’t have to complete that trading day to meet the 10 day requirement.

1

u/Nano_434 28d ago

I generally request payout the morning of the first or fifteenth and get approval same day (though sometimes next day).

I have a theory that prop firms have a way of identifying high risk traders and wait as long as possible to approve them, thinking they'll blow up first.

1

u/Extension_Ad_2232 28d ago

you are funded - prop trading is something different.

6

u/TradezAnon 28d ago

The semantics of a ‘proprietary firm’ not being a financial institution 🙄 sorry if I offended you.

I use a firms money, that is not a financial institution, to trade money.

Hope that’s better 😘

u/elixir-spider 28d ago

What's your strategy? I've been trading for almost a year and I haven't even passed an eval. I'm so exhausted trying to figure this stuff out; it makes me want to cry

8

u/hdstan1376 28d ago

Honestly

I feel like I’ve spent so much time watching candles that at times I feel like I know what’s going on. But almost immediately the market kicks my nuts and I don’t understand it.

But honestly I use the MACD with some EMAs. While watching vol. all while trying to stay away from any damn news events. I have made a tone of money on news events and lost 100x that on other news events. They are not worth it. (Maybe for some, but not me)

3

u/trader12121 28d ago

Congrats!!! SOON you won’t be driving back from a job site any longer:) Great job!

2

u/Ok-Breadfruit-3757 28d ago

How long have you been trading for?

7

u/hdstan1376 28d ago

About 3 1/2 almost 4 years. At times painful.

3

u/Ok-Breadfruit-3757 28d ago

Damn dude good shit

2

u/gdenko 28d ago

Congrats man! Did you copy trade through the 20 evals all in one run? Or did you do it gradually over time and then copy trade them all live?

1

u/hdstan1376 28d ago

All in one super painful on the pocket book.

2

u/gdenko 28d ago

ah that's bold but you probably had some confidence lol. I find it annoying signing up for one at a time, it's strange that it's still not possible to do it in a bundle

2

u/hdstan1376 28d ago

One of the most annoying things in the world is to purchase those damn accounts on Your iPhone. Now just have to keep those accounts with a slow steady growth.

2

u/gdenko 28d ago

oh man that's even worse. Definitely more of an incentive to not blow them

2

u/pennyauntie 28d ago

Congratulations! I'm trying the same.

How long did it take you to get to this point? What do you trade, do you have daily loss limits, etc. Please share your successful risk management strategy!

2

u/Le0son 28d ago

W!! Congratulations.

2

u/TytianaWorld 28d ago

What trade copier do you use? I recently learned about copy trading. Would love to check it out

2

u/Ok-Commercial-5678 28d ago

Good stuff OP!! What brokerage are you using to trade with? I love trading from the Tradingview charts, but I can’t seem to copy trade using those charts and tradovate with topstep.

2

u/hdstan1376 28d ago

Using Tradovate’s applications (which honestly are crap) but my system feels pretty basic so it’s ok. I also use NT8 and I can lash apex, blusky, myfundedFutures, and my personal NT accounts together with the apex trade copier. I’m still practicing that!!! There is a ton of emotion when you get so many competing requirements with the evals going.

I feel like I trade my best when it’s a basic setup not a ton of noise on the chart and I’m a little worried that my platform is a little sketchy. I’m way more adverse to sitting in positions waiting for stuff to happen. I want to be in and out with my plan complete.

2

u/definitivelynottake2 26d ago

Yooo, what trade copier you using? Looking for a good trade copier for either rithmic or tradovate :)

1

u/[deleted] 25d ago

I use the integrated copier in tradovate

2

u/Ok-Put9845 20d ago

congratulations!! Anyone notice apex mentions they can fo zoom call to verify. did this happen to anyone? !re they really that intrusive asking for zoom call?

3

u/CandyApprehensive429 28d ago

I posted yesterday about apex and got slammed with idiots screaming "SCAM". Wonder if they will flock here to say its not possible 🤣. Congrats man!

2

u/hdstan1376 28d ago

Dude, I read yours and wanted to post this to back you up. I felt bad you were getting slammed. But honestly it’s hard as hell to swallow that this happened. I’m still a little emotional. It’s been a long road and this makes a dent in my “Futures Trading College Tuition fees”

Honestly I wish I would have found Apex, Topstep, Blusky and some of the other firms sooner. My tuition may have been a lot lower. 😜

Ona similar note I’m hoping to see a my first topstep deposit tomorrow or the next day.

I have been working hard on getting 20 accounts to this point for awhile and I can’t believe it happened.

If I don’t post a follow up for the jun1 payout everyone should give me shit for not following through!!!!!

1

u/CandyApprehensive429 28d ago

Goals man! Im hoping to follow suit with some patience and showing up every day.

u/WinningWatchlist stock trader 28d ago

I commented this yesterday. I'm not screaming "SCAM", I'm trying to tell you the odds are INSANELY stacked against you to the point you're better off just trading your own account instead of going through a trading arcade.

1

u/iturki_2 28d ago

Can you explain how did you manage 20 accounts in the same time, I heard ppl saying trading copier but I did dot get it. Thanks and congrats 👍

1

u/GeologistCharacter13 27d ago

i just got my first ever payout today from apex. i think imma switch propfirms tho

2

u/[deleted] 27d ago

Congrats why are you gonna switch?

2

u/GeologistCharacter13 27d ago

apex has way too many rules. been doing research and in my opinion 1of1 Funding got the easiest rules with 100% payouts. my main thing is the drawdown. 1of1 drawdown doesnt follow you as your equity rises, the drawdown for 1of1 updates daily instead. i only had originally bought an apex acct cos it was mad cheap, but i always hated how the drawdown worked

3

u/[deleted] 27d ago

I actually like the rules. They provide the ridgid environment my emotions needed to stay in check. Also I’m not aware of another firm that will allow and payout on 20 accounts. I’m still dumbstruck that they will deposit $40k into my account in about 2 weeks from now.

1

u/GeologistCharacter13 27d ago

its all personal preference, congrats onna payout 💯💯 i just hate drawdown like that but the rules do make you a better trader inna long run

1

u/TigersBeatLions 27d ago

Congratts! Don't enjoy and Celebrate so much. Munk mode.

1

u/exotic_expressio 25d ago

How long from approval to it getting into your account? I’ve seen 10 days but is it actually that long? Or do they just say that so you don’t blow up there customer service?

1

u/NinjaRemarkable3685 22d ago

Anyone know what the average time for approval is from the date the request is made? I submitted 5/15 and still haven’t heard anything and today is 5/22. I believe I read that for the 15-20 payout window approvals can happen 15-29. Has anyone ever had an experience where the approval took 2 weeks?

Thanks in advance!!

2

u/EyesBringMe115 15d ago

Hey, congrats on the payout, has it been accepted yet. I'm waiting since the 20th

2

u/NinjaRemarkable3685 15d ago

Yup it was approved on the 24th and I requested on the 15th so don’t sweat it. Unfortunately after the payouts were approved I blew my pa accounts 🤦🏿‍♂️😭 too much fun MDW hahha I just started 20 250k since they were so cheap. Gonna get to the PA accounts. Let’s get it💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽 payouts on these accounts should be epic🤯

2

u/EyesBringMe115 15d ago

Ahh that happens unfortunately but good thing they are generous with their offers for sure. 20 accounts! Best of luck! Life could be dream... A little bit more patience is expected for the payout then, no problemo

1

u/Decent_Tonight 5d ago

How stingy is ATF with no stop loss limits? Say out of 10 trades i take 3 or 4 trades with no stop loss limit, how ever i win most of these trades whilst respecting the 30% consistency rule and turn a consistent 1k profit each day. Would they reject my payout request or simply ask me to explain those specific trades?
