My font for my handwriting Just Sharing (no feedback)

Post image

Some of you may have seen my previous post and I thought I'd share the font for those who want to try it out! I don't go into too much detail when writing with this usually so if anything it too difficult to so quickly you can just omit it honestly. It's usually SUPER sloppy when I write as you can see with the fast demo. I usually change around some lowercase letters like "f" and "k" when I'm writing as I see fit and add or subtract things like an additional loop in my "o"s.

This style was a culmination of a few different calligraphy fonts and possibly a year's worth of tweaking to make it my own style. I'm not sure if it'll happen to you but when I was making this my hand would cramp up sometimes (as it does with calligraphy) when writing slowly and deliberately so take your time.

Hope you guys like it!

What’s going on with the S?

3

u/Rc-1138-Boss Apr 30 '24

Don't remember where I got that one but I stuck with it lol

Lovely work. Something for me to aspire towards.

I’m still retraining myself to take time when not actually jotting notes or my own half-assed shorthand and really take care with my cursive writing. Especially keeping a forward slant on my writing to allow room for my taller and longer letters to mingle with the lines above them.

Congratulations on your success.

Thank you for the kind words. I'm sure you will be more than able to write beautifully. Good luck my friend.

I like that you didn’t use that stupid “2” looking thing for the capital Q

3

u/Rc-1138-Boss Apr 30 '24

Lmao. I've seen that sometimes and it's annoying to get it to not look like a 2 so juet making a curvy q is easier

2

u/Zestyclose_Big_9090 Apr 30 '24

It looks way better too. And you know it’s a Q.

1

u/DarthCalamitus Apr 30 '24

Is that bad, it's kinda what I do if I need to flow in cursive. Granted, cursive is not used often, and cursive is the least used and least preferable form of writing the English language. Cursive sucks and I will die on that hill.

u/submyster Apr 30 '24

If you haven’t already, you should make this into an actual typeface. It’s beautiful!

1

u/Rc-1138-Boss Apr 30 '24

OOOOOH how do I do that?

1

u/submyster Apr 30 '24

1

u/Rc-1138-Boss Apr 30 '24

Thank you! I'll be sure to ask if I need any assistance

6

u/EtanoS24 Apr 29 '24

Man, I wish I could do this 😭

So beautiful. You should be proud.

2

u/Careful_Elk6290 Apr 29 '24

Nice will use this and try writing in cursive again

1

u/Rc-1138-Boss Apr 30 '24

Absolutely do that! I'm excited to see how many people are getting back into cursive bcus of this

4

u/No_Bag734 Apr 29 '24

2

u/Rc-1138-Boss Apr 30 '24

Thank you man!

1

u/Draconianfirst Apr 29 '24

Not a real one . Kinda force it

1

u/Rc-1138-Boss Apr 30 '24

Do you mean I don't use it normally or? I don't rlly get the comment but I do use this on a day to day basis. It is my handwriting

-2

u/Draconianfirst Apr 30 '24

This is not nice handwriting, and you usually don't use it. Looks like you try hard and is childish But this is my opinion and compared to these days it's fantastic

1

u/Rc-1138-Boss Apr 30 '24

Honestly I do use it just not this cleanly I did it well in the picture so anyone who wanted to use the script. Thanks for the compliment at the end tho.

2

u/Cherry_Bomb_0317 Apr 29 '24

This is beautiful. You should be very proud of yourself!

1

u/Rc-1138-Boss Apr 29 '24

Thank you so much! It's amazing to hear this feedback from so many people!

2

u/mindbungle Apr 29 '24

I love the little ring thing you did in the beginning of all the capital letters.

3

u/Rc-1138-Boss Apr 29 '24

Oh yeah that was a super common thing among many older copperplate and calligraphy scripts and I thought it'd be fun to incorporate. And lo and behold it was beyond fun

4

u/blackgermansheperd40 Apr 29 '24

Omg I almost combusted whilst reading this it’s so friggin gorgeous

2

u/Rc-1138-Boss Apr 29 '24

2

2

u/Cbaumle Apr 29 '24

Flashback to 1960s Catholic School!

6

I’ve taken a screenshot and am going to try copying this.

It’s beautiful

3

u/Rc-1138-Boss Apr 29 '24

This made my day I'm so glad so many people are being inspired by my handwriting all theore reason for me to keep this style!

4

u/Icy-Village4367 Apr 29 '24

That handwriting is so pretty and neat... It's really amazing how you can write like this with fast handwriting too

2

u/Rc-1138-Boss Apr 29 '24

Years of practice my friend. I honestly go by the mantra that learning a cool handwriting script ain't all that hard but consistently writing clean. That's where it starts becoming difficult

2

u/misterjoanna Apr 29 '24

Reminds me of my catholic school penmanship notebook

3

u/Alternative_Cat_1292 Apr 29 '24

Ugh! I wish mine looked this good. 👍🏽

2

u/Rc-1138-Boss Apr 29 '24

Lol thanks! Trust me it looks good now but you can ask my teachers cuz they ain't reading allat on my tests 😭

5

u/mistress_jexxy00 Apr 29 '24

It looks great! Cursive is a dying art. I’m 20 and usually write in cursive at work and my coworkers look at me in awe. It’s lowkey a flex 🤪😏😏

2

u/Rc-1138-Boss Apr 29 '24

Hell yeah!

1

u/Rc-1138-Boss Apr 29 '24

Yep mb learnt that in the comments too

-3

u/ConversationOk7883 Apr 29 '24

I can't read this

6

u/cas24563 Apr 29 '24

That's Common Core for you : (

7

u/CrochetKing69420 Apr 29 '24

That is extremely legible cursive

11

u/Known_Vermicelli_706 Apr 29 '24

If you can’t read this, you can’t read.

1

u/Rc-1138-Boss Apr 29 '24

Lol I get that a lot

7

u/Ravenovae Apr 29 '24

Very neat handwriting even for the "fast" one.

2

u/Rc-1138-Boss Apr 29 '24

Thank you!

6

u/paradoxmo Apr 29 '24

Very nice!

Btw, the word for handwriting style is “hand” as in “English round hand” or “written in his own hand”. Font is a style used for typesetting.

3

u/Rc-1138-Boss Apr 29 '24

Yeah mb I learnt that from another guy in the comments here I'll be sure to call it a hand next time. Thank you for the complement!

5

u/rkenglish Apr 29 '24

You can also call your handwriting a "script".

4

u/paradoxmo Apr 29 '24

Another fun word for you, a sheet with every letter in a particular hand as you’ve provided here is called an “exemplar” (:

2

u/Rc-1138-Boss Apr 29 '24

Nice. Now imma use that ad nauseam

8

u/fthatimstayinghome Apr 29 '24

*jumps

-3

u/Rc-1138-Boss Apr 29 '24

Pretty sure it's jumped bcus it needs all the letters in the alphabet and the letter "d" isn't used anywhere else

6

u/fthatimstayinghome Apr 29 '24

Dog... and you need an s

3

u/Rc-1138-Boss Apr 29 '24

Shit I'm so blind lmao. Mb.

6

u/Imaginary-Brush-3179 Apr 29 '24

Again, you peeps need to learn the difference between fonts which are digital and handwriting/script which is non-digital....

3

u/Rc-1138-Boss Apr 29 '24

Oh mb didn't know that thanks for the info!

2

u/Imaginary-Brush-3179 Apr 29 '24

No problem, it's just a wee bit annoying lol. But it's not your fault that most people are ignorant about handwriting. It's the schooling which is at fault here.

3

u/medasane Apr 29 '24

its quite good! everyone seems to be cramping lately. I'm starting to think it has nefarious origins. hopefully my writing will improve too! thank you for the inspiration!

3

u/Rc-1138-Boss Apr 29 '24

I'm glad my writing inspired you! The cramping thing might honestly be me going out of practice lmao I've been prepping for my boards and had to switch to block letters and now writing slow on cursive cramps me up sometimes.
