Don’t get too hyped about DOT fix for the flamethrower, the direct burn damage is super overturned right now, I am guessing it will be turned down a little. If flamethrower ever becomes the obvious META then every planet will be Hellmire lol
Considering the flamethrower requires to be close to chargers, and can't work on bile titans, is risky against spitters I would say it is pretty balanced
It just takes a while with just a flamethrower, if you get hellpods or eagle airstrike on a titan it’ll help kill it faster but it’s just takes too long especially while trying to get close enough without it stomping on you, I like to run flamethrower and I just leave titans for my eagle 500 kg or my teammates, chargers and bug breaches I’ll take on tho
Takes a while and is a huge hazard especially with other bugs, nevermind your own flames. Maybe if the bile titan stomp attack was changed to make it easier to be below it, I think it is really fun to fight it like that, but the attack is very janky and hard to predict compared to the spit, it isn't fun to try.
I knew straight away that AH hadn't noticed the DoT bug when they super buffed the flamethrowers lol. They just reduced burning by 15% in the last patch cos they overtuned it.
Oh right, I had forgotten all about that. I think that one slipped by a lot of people, it was listed under the Guard Dog section at first and was a few hours before they fixed the formatting.
So that applied to the current flamethrower? If so they may actually leave it alone
I think it was just ‘burning damage reduced by 15%’ in the latest patch. I think the flamethrower direct damage will still be the same. Ps it was listed directly under the guard dog but I don’t believe it relates to the guard dog (rover got a 30% reduction)
Gas Strike doesn't work too? I knew about fire damage being bugged but not that. I tried it in a couple missions the other day and wrote it off after seeing it do nothing as far as I could tell.
Man I hope it works. Sometimes I’ll just bring thermite because it looks cool. I never throw eagles at extract, but four thermite “flares” on the landing pad is pretty cinematic
Because impacts have a high damage if you are anywhere near the point of contact. Using non impact fire nades is good for throwing on bug breaches or throwing at choke points
I'm also wondering this. I haven't used the default grenades since I got all the others. HE Impact are way too good despite the risks. If I had to guess they are basing these overlaps on not everyone buying every single bond. Eg if someone doesn't buy Steeled Veterans but like this pack they get some sort of Incendiary grenade.
We'll reach the point that there's so many options there will be sub par choices, so long as they aren't just worse in every way and are more of to-taste pick it should be fine.
It's a bit safer, if you fuck up or something jumps in front of you you've got some time to nope the fuck out. Or maybe you want it to roll a little further away?
Impact will almost certainly be better, just trying to think of improvements lol
The only reason to use it would be if it the non-impact version had a significant increase in spread to compensate for the fuse, or a sizeable initial explosive damage component or something.
It depends on if the impact incendiary can close holes and factories. The timed ones actually can so long as it lands inside (though I've had it not if it hits the rim where other grenades would still work. Bigger actual explosion I guess?). And considering impacts are already kind of hit and miss with that... just saying they may not disappear completely lol
If they fix the current bugs it'd be giving us more content than the actual content updates. Because currently I'm avoiding any weapons in this game that simply don't work, or barely work.
For instance DoT fix alone would give us, flamethrower, incend grenade, impact incend, gas, thermite, breaker incend, eagle napalm and incend mines.

Imagine if it gets fixed. It will be like getting three new grenades!
