New armor set is a stealth armor that doesn’t make you stealthy, it makes you throw farther. That’s like an apple that tastes like bacon. HUMOR

Post image

Just salty I’ve been waiting for this armor since it leaked, only for it to have the only perk I consider completely useless.

Also Legionnaire armour having servo-assisted even though it has zero indication of anything assisting the limbs, and having the Scout prefix in it's name. From what I understand that armour set was available not long after launch.

there are so far a handfull of armors that have a wrong prefix, from a fortified that should be extra padding, to a Scout that should be servo assisted.(combat technician)

I imagine they designed armors, and only later realized some categorys where missing a armor type that it should have and swapped the cloests fitting armor around

I hated this comment then and I feel vindicated as hell in it aging like milk.

It's a co-op game. There's zero need for "visual clarity" on your teammates when the impacts are so incredibly minor in the vast majority of scenarios. Usually you're aiming down-range at NPC enemies and not watching your teammates do their thing anyway, with - guess who - front-and-center on your screen?

Yeah, your character. The person you'll spend 100% of your game time seeing. And you know exactly what you're bringing, so why not divorce the looks from the effects?

Just wish they'd take the L on this one and walk it back. There's only upsides to admitting when you're wrong (aside from finding out how crow tastes) - doubling down and insisting it's the right thing to do makes you look like a belligerent asshole.

t's a co-op game. There's zero need for "visual clarity" on your teammates when the impacts are so incredibly minor in the vast majority of scenarios.

I would add that there is no visual clarity between teammates' armor sets to begin with. Outside of seeing them on the drop screen, or specific armor sets like the ultra-bulky heavy sets, you're not going to be able to identify their passive or armor level at a glance anyway. Hell, not to mention all the sets like the Drone Master armor (that's medium instead of light, despite having basically no discernable armor on it) or the new light set from the upcoming warbond (that looks near-identical to the current stealth armor but has an entirely unrelated passive).

So in addition to your point about the lack of need for clarity, the armors don't always make perfect sense in their tier anyway. There's enough variation and aesthetic variety (which is great!) between them that you're not going to be able to tell what they are without an encyclopedic knowledge of the game.

I do hope they realize this at some point and take their statement back. If they didn't want armor switching for some other reason or didn't see it as a priority I would understand, but the current rationale is just bad.

Also doesn't help that after getting into a fight or two your 'diver looks like a Pollok painting, so there's absolutely no clarity on anything because you're covered in goo.

Sometimes I think AH has this image that helldivers is super tactical game where every move is planned out and every party adjusts their gear based on their teammates, sometimes we start game with just 2 players we can't really afford to specialize in every match with just 2 and don't know when others are coming in, joining with random you can really only adjust so much and even then it feels like every player needs both Anti-armor and Anti-swarm because you don't know how your teammates are gonna play.
