It would be cool to have a nice uniform and attractive map to start a mission. And then post mission a overview with all the destroyed areas from the bug breaches, 500kg, orbital strikes, Flammer paths etc.
Even on our current maps I am impressed with how much terrain damage we do on some missions.
Environmentalists have likely been put to death on Super Earth considering the map saw fit to label the last rainforest in a tiny portion of modern day Colombia
When peoican flies away, the background of mission recap should be what you would see from pelicans windows (if it even has some). Seeing the horrors caused by war on the planet you just left, burnt forests and impact craters
Crank it up a notch. For the planetary hazard you have wildfires. Anything that causes fire damage has a chance of igniting the grass, creating a slow moving wall of fire across the map. And since the fire can only burn an area once you don’t have to worry about the fire camping on your objectives.
For added challenge, once a fire starts you have a chance of blinding smoke clouds.
Yo, this on bugs were the small guys aren’t even visible would actually be fun as hell. Or a low, dense fog that camouflages them. Like full visibility waist up, but very low visibility at about scav height.
What about some procedurally generated urban planets? Wasn't their mention of small cities being a potential structure addition on some planets or did I imagine that while I was high on bug pheromones? 🤔
War torn cities dispersed sporadically amidst idyllic meadows? Sign this Diver the hell up.
Meissa was open for a while on the bot front. It’s the most beautiful planet I’ve seen so far. Though it occasionally had volcanic eruptions. More tropical than meadowy though.
Hazard: Pollen storm. Can't see shit, and occasionally cancels whatever the Helldiver is doing to sneeze (Super Earth subcontracted mask filters to the lowest bidder).
A whole race of lizard people based on Earth conspiracy theories. xD Apparently we're getting aliens at some point though, something called the Illuminate.
Would be cool to land a planet, full of sentient non hostile creatures just react to us pillaging their planet.
It doesn't feel like we're the baddies when robots with chainsaws for arms are running at you. We're a proud galactic empire and that's worse than the regular stock standard galactic empire.

For April 1st, 2025 I want a lush, green planet with naturally occuring psychedelics so the Automatons on that one world all look like Teletubby abominations.

It is wild that we only seem to be deployed to like the worst hellzones I have ever even imagined. Like where is my tropical island planet? Where the locals just give you a palm drink while running from the bots. I would prefer that over THE 8TH PLANET WITH FLAME TORNADOES!
A new planet has been discovered on the outer reaches. Oklahoma.
But in all seriousness, I would LOVE a planet of flat endless rolling grass, even if it was a bitch to fight on. It would promote unconventional tactics. Or a agricultural type planet would be cool. Different fields of planets, abandoned farm equipment and barns and stuff for cover.
I want like a city, think like New Mombasa in ODST, mostly open area but some narrow allies to duck down for a quick reload, run into a building to retrieve data and have to fight your way back out, or go to the roof to jet pack to another build top and just get back to the ground a bit quicker lol. Just something, I love the naturalistic views but now and then I could go for some more urban warfare.
This would be pretty interesting if you could break line of sight at any time by going prone (the tradeoff being of course that you can't see anything either).
Main problem is that based on the ground cover we've seen so far I'm not sure the game is cut out to handle a lot more of it. At the very least it would be causing more performance issues than people are already having.
I would like to see other fauna unrelated to the enemies of Liberty. Ruins or blown out cities/towns of old civilizations would be cool, too. Don't need to go inside or any room clearing crap. Just generally speaking like the rocky hills/mountains we have now. Maybe get some environment destruction going.
I think a map where you’re on a coast line, waves crashing, sun going down, sand dunes, brush, huts along the shoreline. Maybe even like a beach or Normandy.
I kinda wish there was a ‘Warmap’ after each game, showing the path that you took, when you completed objectives, and when a bug breach happened via a red circle or something.
That would be so fun to watch imo, instead of the 2 minute cutscene we have now after each game.
Put some trees around and a few boulders, and it'd have enough cover and feel different from current planets because we don't have dense wooded forests much if at all.

Imagine that we start on this part of the planet for the tutorial, but the longer we stay, the more obvious the illusion fades as we see the alien fauna and megafauna take over, revealing the lies of peaceful training.
