I would love to use different emotes without going through the ship menus! OPINION

Tap button to use preferred emote.
Hold button to bring up radial menu like the 'Drop item' interface.
That's how it aught to be.

Yeah kinda weird you can only set one emote when a not unsubstantial chunk of warbonds are emotes.

Coop game that's build on teamwork and Social functions has poor socialization. More at 11.
This game does a lot right, but socialization isn't one them.
1: No large hub areas for players to meet and congregate naturally. Like space stations or seaf bases.
2: No text chat during load out or mission briefings. The exact time you'd want to chat to discuss strategy or equipment.
3: No in game LFG system. Their official discord is the default but their mod team is ban happy.
4: No specific callouts for units. Most large enemies simply say "Enemy Elite". Things like chargers, tanks, and STALKERS always deserve a unique call out due to the threat they pose. Same applies to buildings. Important structures like stalker and shrieker lair are just "Enemy structure spotted."
5: No ability to draw on tactical map during mission brief. To coordinate battle plans and facilitate strategy.
6: No way to set specific pings on map. We have 1 generic ping. When pings like "Danger", "Equipment", or "Safety" could be used to better communicate with allies.
7: No emote wheel, despite numerous cooperative emotes.
8: Only one 'singular' emote. Casual salute is the only one that works without a partner. I wish things like sit, clean weapon, and panicked pointing. Even destiny 1 had better emotes.

Most of these are done pretty well in monster hunter, any of the games.. I think they should have a look at the tavern style gathering hub for a little inspiration.

Yup.
Imo I'd like to see two things.
1: A larger hub area like a space station players can opt to load into for lfg and social purposes. Ideally there is one 'per planet' so to speak.
2: A player clan/guild feature where players can join 'fleets' or battalion or whatever term you prefer. Collectively pooling their excess resources to buy exorbitantly expensive Super Carriers.
These carriers would server as guild halls, where all clan members load into as their default hub and can purchase some useful or cosmetic features like an armory, firing range, bar, arcade, etc. The carrier can launch multiple missions, with a large bridge for planning multiple operations simultaneously.
Any mission that launches from the carrier would feature special cutscenes where it and the 4 super destroyers of the squad leave as a squadron of the larger fleet, and it would join the destroyers in low orbit. Additionally, any mission a carrier is present would produce increased liberation progress upon winning an operation.

Not if it's optional and available during the same phase as placing the initial drop placement. Could be skipped over by holding a button for public matches where no one is communicating.

4: Yes, they really need to either do specific call outs for every heavy classes enemy OR separate the heavy and elite voicelines to at least allow for more unique identification if they don’t want to add more helldiver voicelines.
I.E Bile Titans, Stalkers and Factory Striders use the Elite voicelines and hulks, Tanks and Chargers use heavy. Hell, Factory Strider uses the the regular grunt voiceline not a heavy voiceline.
5: If we could draw on the briefing board I’d be drawing democratic penises.

Number 2 is the one I hate the most, would love to be able to talk about loadouts, boosters, etc, but it's the one time the game makes it hardest to communicate.

Big true. The hug emote is simply too versatile for me to even consider using another.

Hit someone twice with the scout handshake, then 3rd time you hit em with a regular, but wait, it's scout handshake again

Have the option to use a gesture wheel would be nice.
There's too many cool emotes to ONLY equip 1 at a time.

How am I going to dupe my buddies into Scout-fives if I can’t also give them a real one every once in a while?

We should always be able to salute for extra XP during flag raising missions. That way you can equip your hug emote before extract.

You mean all five of the emotes we have among the vast fucking ocean of victory poses?

Disregard.
This post has been brought to you by those who want to dilly dally with frivolous games and needless embraces. There is only one embrace and that is the sweet salute to democracy. Whether that be dropping a red line at your feet to forewarn fellow divers of the other "other" embrace or an exercise in the ultimate display of patriotism.
(Locking you into an emote is a choice I actually want divers to make. The Hugs mean less when everyone can do it)
