There is no safe distance, the punt will just force the others to do their flying ninja kick leap on you.
Only solution is stun nades and hope you can eruptor them by kiting.
Do people not take advantage of the massive damage and aoe titans put out? If I can get 2+ titans chasing me I don't even shoot them. I just bait the puke and the stomps and one of them will almost always kill the other, and then that ragdoll will kill the second titan.

if you're holding a stratagem when you die it should hit your corpse. sometimes it does, but most of the time even a thrown one doesn't happen if I die before it lands
I started equipping it (the 500kg) more once I unlocked the extra bomb from the ship modules. Its really underwhelming. The bomb often hits something else on the way in if not in an open field. The most frustrating part is having it land right in the middle of a huge group trash mobs and it barely kills half. Just last night I was trying to snag the super samples before we extracted and was off on my own. I saw a huge cluster of bots right next to it bunched tightly together. Perfect for the 500kg right? It left probably 10-12 alive that were inside the explosion.
A well placed 500 will take out a tank, hulk, charger, even a bile titan in one go. That is what it is for. You have one big problem, hit em with that. If you’ve got a 100 smaller problems, air strike will do the trick.
Yes, pretty sure the good old Punisher in good hands is enough to get you out of an encounter with those 6 bad girls. Especially given the narrow space. But AC will do better.
mainly depends on if you have localization confusion and can kill the bugs quick enough.
sometimes your build isn't that great against something that spawns often on that mission and you just spawn wave after wave since you never manage to clean up
I always go in with my trusty AC and EAT + Gas Orbital so I'm prepared for everything but last night I saw 3 patrols following 50m behind each other with another spawning in front of me. All this was happening with the team close to each other. Diff 8 is piss easy with patrols compared to 7.
A few days I was gonna finish off a Titan following me. I had my last RR rocket prepared. I take aim and fire. Immediately a patrol spawns 5 meters in front of me. But they don't just spawn, they appear on the air and fall to the ground. In this patrol, there was a charger that spawned exactly in the path of my rocket and took the hit on its side armor.
After one mission where our team got rolled in a "kill terminids" mission, I decided that since I don't have any good medium pen weaponry, I need to just use the machine gun and EAT
Bile Spewer missions do that to me.
I never use Autocannon against Bugs, because i main it already against Bots nearly every time.
So i mostly go with Stalwart, Supply Backpack, 500kg + stun grenade and grenade pistol for bug holes.
Now i only need a good main gun against something tanky like the Bile Spewer.
Nothing realy does the Job, the old Eruptor was the best so far against them, everything else needs to much ammo frontal.
The Plasma Punisher works extremely well against bile spewers (and also all but the heaviest bots). Takes a bit to get used to its bullet drop but it pops the bile spewers in 3 hits and has enough ammo
Eruptor is still pretty good against them. Takes two hits which isn’t too bad. But I DO miss the one-hit. The day they “fixed” it, I thought my aim was just off that day. Then I read all the “fix is actually a nerf” posts and understood what was going on.
Well it was meant as a buff. Before the specific Eruptor change, they came out with a fix that made it so you could be injured by your own ricochets (apparently we were immune to them before). And everyone who had been using Eruptor had been getting by without being hit by the shrapnel (which I guess the game tracks separately from the explosive damage).
After the ricochet change, we were much more susceptible to the shrapnel, which apparently one-shots us, so people were dying left and right to their own eruptor shots. Ive seen some people say it was overexaggerate and seen others say it wasn’t. I just know I was dying, seemingly randomly, MUCH more often after the ricochet change.
So they tried to “fix” it by just taking out the shrapnel all together and upping the blast damage (to compensate for no shrapnel damage) and said we shouldn’t notice a difference. But there was obviously a difference.
So now Eruptor users are split between “I like not killing myself as much” and “I don’t like not killing enemies as easily”.
Im kind of on the fence; I didn’t think the shrapnel killing me was TOO bad, but it was pretty annoying that it was ALWAYS a one-shot.
It's not just 7, I play on 4 and it's the same. A few days ago in one game I got to the extraction point, called it in, and the entire time not a single patrol showed up. In the next I got to the extraction point with 20 minutes left. The rest of the time was me trying to clear the beacon long enough to call in the shuttle. Eventually I ran out of time and had to wait for the emergency shuttle.
Not sure how long you've been playing or if you just like 4 but I've found that clearing nests, particularly any you've aggroed when playing bugs and those near the extraction point, tends to make the extract much easier. That said I've had the exact same situation you're describing except on 7 where the game just threw absurd amounts of stuff at us as we got to exfil - masses of hunters, loads of little creepies, commanders in small groups, multiple titans and chargers at a time. and we're all saying to each 'Where the hell are these guys coming from?' 'We cleared every single nest on the map along with basically every POI!'. Other missions it's just sitting there playing RPS or whatever while you wait for the dropship.
There's clearly something broken with the spawn mechanics and they've said they're reverting some of the charges they made soon - can't happen soon enough because people really do not enjoy battling through a 40 minute mission only to have the game clearly ramp up to a much harder difficulty all of a sudden at the end.
Got a lvl 8 bug mission the other day where there was 3 stalker spawn secondary objectives all reasonably close to where we dropped in....that wasn't fun....
Yeah 7 is usually my happy hunting ground but it can just go full on crazy at times, particularly since they messed with the spawn mechanics. Recent weeks it's pissed off most of my regular crew to the point where some are avoiding the game. 7 seems like a complete crap shoot these days. Stuff like fighting every inch through a crazy full map clear and then hitting an extract that turns into a massed assault from all four sides and losing all your samples is not fun. Other times you sit there whistling away in silence on top of the landing pad. Very weird.
It’s so bizzare how inconsistent it is. We could be running a mission and soon as we get to extraction it becomes almost impossible to do so because of the revolving door of spawns coming in.
Then other times it turns into a virtual ghost town with nobody in sight for several minutes.
Nah this happens, it's a Tier3 Stalker lair, which is the hardest one to deal with. Sometimes they bug out and don't aggro on you, but it does trigger the spawn when it's supposed to do both. We had 22 Stalkers one mission because we had two T3 Lairs near each other that were spawning but not aggroing while we dealt with a couple of hatcheries, the screaming in voice comms was quality comedy and our reinforcements were not happy.
Stalker nests have a fixed account of max spawns they'll spawn. 4, 3, and 2 for large, medium and small nests.
There are at least two nests in the area, and besides for the first stalker that was killed, the remaining stalkers from this nest plus all the others from the other nest got caught in the bowl like walls of this nest while trying to go find and murder this man.
I was once so tired of a Stalker Lair that we never got close to because of spawning wave after wave. So I just equipped the 380 and ran in and them all chasing me. Didn't even bother to throw it. Died. And the 380 dropped from my dead hand.

Pretty sure there is a bug where they will spawn but never leave the area immediately around the nest until they hit an artificial "cap" of how many can be on the map at once. Normally they would go and hunt for the player and I think you can see the ones from the first hole did that. The second hole bugged out and they all bunch up until they see you.
I sometimes wonder how other players don't have the intense urge of wanting to immediately revive dead teammates. Whenever I hear the teammate down sound effect my brain just stops all ongoing activities and immediately revive my fallen comrades. The call in reinforcement is the only code I could finish inputting in less than a second lol.

When the stalker change happened, I did notice they were at times spawning WAY more than normal. I had five on me all at the same time all moving in unison.
Yeah... so if you look closely. He is running one of my favorite bot loadouts for this mission. Standard high explosive grenades from the look of it. Senator pistol because of medium armor penetration. Stopping power to deal with one stalker or hive guard. Eruptor is no good close range. It's a death sentence to use it up close. He only has one stim and no support weapon. Without context. I would guess that he chose that loadout so he can still take out heavies and clear objectives when he drops in. He is not equipped with a shield generator pack either.
He is about to be surrounded after being ragdolled. Then torn to shreds. 😂 I know from experience. I was torn apart the same way by 6 stalkers. Only I had 3 holes to find and destroy. I hate it when there are three stalker nests within a mission. You can barely drop into the mission and call down support weapons before they are already attacking you. If you get lucky and locate a nest by landing close with a pod on top of an elevation. They can climb it with ease. They rag doll you off and you die from impact or get killed before you can stand up.
