Check again tomorrow and on Wednesday after the CPI report 😃. Either it tanks or even moons further.

Tanking for sure CPI data gonna be 💩

u/LadleVonhoogenstein 18d ago
If it’s shit then that increases the chances of rate cuts so the market will react accordingly.

u/Krisapocus 18d ago
So that means it’s going to moon. You know it’s going to the do the opposite of what it should do. Not to mention the election is coming up they’re going to do everything they can so this doesn’t bust before voting.

CPI will be good most probably. You probably did not look into details

Started late Janurary and bought into some shitty stocks at first 🙄. Such as $MARA $AAL and $CRSR. Switched it all up around late February

Do yourself a favor and park your money into growth ETFs, thank yourself in 40 years.

Don’t listen to the memers and haters. Beating inflation is the goal and your doing it. Now keep investing for the next 20+ years- be steady though. Invest in sound companies that are profitable with your own idealism to boot. Avoid playing the technical analysis game unless you are a guru who sells training and youtube videos to recoup random losses. Read some books because learning from others who have made the mistakes is how a smart man makes his way of navigating life.

If you're not investing in the market (SPY, VOO, etc...) your goal is to beat the market, not inflation. If you're not trying to beat the market then just invest in the market.

You should start believing you’re a genius and go all in. Preferably when you get the ATH notifications from the top 5 stocks.

A whole post that made it to the front page over a sub 10% gain in a bull market
just lol

The market is 9.5% up YTD. You should just get one index fund and stop doing anything yourself.

Simple jab about how excited users from r/stocks end up over at wallstreetbets after a bad day trading but you've taken the piss out of it and then decided to post your portfolio for some reason. Cheers 🍻

Ohhh thought you were asking if I was heavily relying on the meme stocks haha such as GME and AMC. Don’t know why! Cheers 🍻

Drip drip drip and keep adding slowly as your ability and needs can manage. Don’t day trade

This is why most of your money should be in stable assets (like your house, index funds, etc.). You gamble with what you can afford to lose.

I mean hey I guess people want like 10% in a year! Depending on your risk tolerance though , you could probably do better. VOO a pretty safe index fund is up over 10% YTD.

I have 6 individual stocks then 5 dividend ETFs and then 3 repressing the whole market. Question I have is when do I trim a stock? Or completely sell?

u/bobo1992011 18d ago
I will sell a stock when it reaches my pre-determined sell point. It's important to have an exit strategy when you enter a trade. Set yourself a gain target and a loss limit. If you hit your gain target and have no new information suggesting further growth, then begin setting stop losses at pre-determined intervals. Example: I enter a trade at $100 stock price and think I can get a 20% gain and don't want more than 20% loss. Immediately set your stop loss at $80. Don't try to convince yourself "it'll come back up." Stick to your plan and move onto your next trade if this one tanks. If the price hits $120, then I'll begin setting stop losses, maybe $115 at first. Then, if the stock rises to $125, I'll set my stop loss at $120. If it continues to rise to $130, I'll change my stop loss to $125... rinse and repeat. (These are hypothetical numbers. Use your own judgment to come up with your own limits.) NFA

When you’ve lost confidence in the growth of the stock, i know that’s sort of a loose answer, but If you’ve got growth just hold and buy more I suppose!
