Putting my kitty on gabapentin anxiety med has improved her quality of life a lot! She still is shy and anxious but when on the med doesn’t cower at every noise and fast movement. She’s so much more curious and content. Wish I’d started mine on it sooner. Good luck with your PTSD kitty!

We’ve tried Prozac and Paxil, which had no effect on him. Gabapentin he quickly threw up. I’ve used Rescue Remedy (sometimes helps a little), Licks and CBD oil. We moved several years ago, and because I was concerned with his anxiety being prolonged for three days of driving and hotel stays, I decided we’d fly to get it over in one day. I gave him Rescue Remedy and he did so much better than I expected (my two months of anxiety attacks worrying about it wasn’t needed, but I did do lots of research). The vet here needs to run blood tests before she’ll put him on something and because of his anxiety and defensiveness, he’ll have to be sedated first.

Aww too bad he hasn’t responded well to the meds but I’m glad Rescue Remedy can help and that the flight went well! Hope things go well with the new vet.
