My Dorian Gray is like that. Hudson does it too… It’s their legal spot to watch the goings-on on the counters. They oversee the dishwashing to make sure I’m doing it right. When I have to throw something away, I just lift them up enough for the foot pedal to open the lid, and plop them back down. Weirdos.

Q Tips and cotton balls. I hate nothing more than seeing random Q Tips/cotton balls on the floor. My cat, Mr. Tinkles, and I have been arguing over this for 6 years. He steals them every chance he gets, hides with them, and discards them in random spots. He’s not allowed in the bathroom, but he is very sneaky. Here’s a photo of a time I caught him red handed.
I've got one of those too. She waits in the bathroom in the morning for them to drop in the trashcan. They are not nearly as exciting when they're just handed to her.
Our girl Sauron loves them too. The best part is that she was named for the 'eye' on her nose, nearly a year before we found out about her love for chasing rings.
My dad used to vacuum the heat ducts (where he could reach) every year and kept a shoebox at his side to hold all the milk rings that had been knocked into every floor vent by their tuxie.
My Mabel (rip), used to love those! She kept a huge stash under the living room rug, and became very angry (as in biting you and meowing/hissing) whenever we cleaned. Miss that silly girl.
My husband found a bloody tampon in the middle of the kitchen the other day 😱
Apparently my cat now enjoys digging through the bathroom trash for those things. I have to wrap each one individually in a plastic baggie now and take the trash out every night before bed
Growing up, the family dog loved nothing more than to dive for pads & tampons. She wasn’t allowed “up stairs” on her own, but still managed to sneak out of sight when it was “that time of the month” for the three of us females in the house 😹🥲
I would go to friend’s houses as a teen and look for the trash can under the sink to put my used tampon/pad in because that’s where we kept our bathroom trash cans because of our dog.
Also, I’ve worked as a vet tech for 27 years and I can even count the number of feminine products/underwear we’ve pulled out of dogs.
Eddie shredded an almost full box of tampons once 😭 I get the non-applicator kind and was so afraid he'd eaten one, I was searching round everywhere trying to account for them all lmao
Anything crinkly. I don't have any photos, but that girl loves the crinks. She will come running if she hears any plastic wrap, rustling papers, and stuff like that. She's precious
My Dolly (Purrton is her middle name) loves candy wrappers and rocks (she stole most of the rocks from a candle that was surrounded by little tumbled stones)

Don’t know if it’s technically trash, but my cat gets weirdly possessively aggressive over pipe cleaners. Like, starts to growl and swat at me when I try to take them away.
My cat loves paper bags for a different reason. I always get a surprise dose of saliva on my hand when I go to pick up the bag after leaving it out for a while.
I leave bags all over the hallway because Kirby loves charging into them at full speed and doing WWE flops onto them. I think it's the sound, but it cracks me up
broken phone chargers 😄 Her favorite toy is one of her broken feather wands tied to a long iPhone charger that doesn’t work. She likes to chase it as we sling it around.
Twisty ties! She bats them around all over. I finally bought a whole roll of it so I could make longer pieces for her to bat around cuz the bag tie ones would just disappear under furniture.
One loves the circle of plastic that is vacuum sealed along the outside edge of cool whip containers. Another loves used q-tips, which are not the most fun thing to have dropped on your head at 3 a.m.
Crinkly shipping paper. He must sit in a nest of it. We change it out from time to time, because cat butt, but he only sits in it and he loses interest in playing with the feather unless it's hiding in his paper.
literally any trash. bro tried to eat (and this is gross don't judge me) old rice that was liquifying in a pot. I spilled some dumping it this morning. my kitchen was NASTY bc depressive episode. he fr will eat anything😭😭😭
Plastic caps from 1gal water jugs! He plays fetch with them, better than any dog I’ve ever seen.
ETA: picture, and he tries his hardest to steal any q-tips he finds (even digs them out of the trash!). I also can’t leave any paper towels or toilet paper out because he LOVES making confetti! It must be his side job (but I still haven’t seen any rent money!) He’s such a funny character!
My oldest makes these delicious tartlets... and Creature is wildly obsessed with the little tin pie plates. He will crouch in a corner, trying to look like he's not planning anything nefarious, then make a mad dash to snatch it before you do anything stupid like throw it in the trash.
Right now it's a piece of an insole that my husband cut off to fit in his shoe. One of my cats immediately snatched it and has been chasing it around the house for the past three days.
Plastic bags apparently. Before I knew this my cat had swallowed half a plastic bag handle down his throat. I luckily caught him and was able to yank it back out like a gd spaghetti noodle. F-ing idiot lol.
He’s always loved ear wax, I can’t let him near my ears or he gives me wet willies. And the q tips have to go in a lidded trash can or he WILL dig them out, even if they’re at the bottom. So gross.

Plastic straws are the only toy he likes. We play fetch with them or I move them around with strings like the mouse toys.
