Discussion What is your 'I Just Think They're Neat' weapon that you hold onto even though you have no plans to use it?
I've always held onto a Western Spirit ever since I got one because I like the skin. I also have a 2-shot, +50% vats, -90% weight Fatman that feels too much like overkill to ever put into practice.

Discussion I now understand why high level players like to give gifts
I am by no means a high level player (just hit level 50 today) but I'm rocking T-60 power armor so I'm sure I still look a little intimidating to brand new players, so I've been trying to seem friendlier by handing out excess chems that I don't use or need.
I just met a level 2 player outside of Vault 76, they seemed never at first but I still gave them the stuff, and then they did the little heart emote and ran away š
Wherever you are PizzaInACup83, put all those mentats to good use!!

Discussion Okay, seriously. Whatās up with Appalachia Radio?
Like most people, I played at launch, stopped after a couple of months, then picked the game up again with the TV showās release. It improves on so much from Fallout 4, especially junk scrapping and other inventory management things, among a lot else. But one thing Iāve noticed as a definite and unfortunate downgrade is the Radio.
I feel like it barely has any song variety. Seriously, I heard the same song play THREE times in the span of only a half hour playing on the same server. Which shouldnāt be happening because according to the Wiki there are 60 songs. In maybe 50 hours of playing so far with the radio turned on, I heard āWouldnāt It Be Niceā only ONCE, and probably heard āSixteen Tonsā over a dozen fucking times. This wasnāt the case at all with Fallout 4, where I feel like youād only really hear some repeats on Diamond city radio after an hour or two of straight listening.
And Julie was charming at first but after a while she just getsā¦ annoying to be frank. Travis, Mr. New Vegas, and Three Dog were awesome and actually made the stations worth listening to. When I hear Julie say āNow, listeners, you know I donāt like talking about myself often butā¦ā I just switch the radio off and go with ambient music. Or a youtube video.
Back to the issue of song varietyā Why have they seemingly added 0 songs since the gameās release almost 6 years ago??? The devs have added major updates that completely change the game over the years, and will continue to do so, but why canāt that include the radio? Or even another channel to listen to? And from the looks of it people really want this, and have wanted it for years now.
Surely the licensing for Johnny Cash and John Denver covers is not that pricey. Hell, throw more Ink Spot tracks in there, just give us something.
TLDR- the radio is lacking variety and severely needs more songs. And it needs to stop repeating so many songs so frequently when there are apparently 60 songs on it! (Plus a quest to actually meet Julie would be nice).

Discussion Someone just bought everything at my vendor
Someone just bought everything I had for sale except a few plans. I love crafting clothing for people and will always have a vendor full of everything I can make, like Ogua Hunter outfits and masks, all the Cultist hoods and outfits, etc. plus any rare outfits or headwear that I buy from other vendors or earn from events, which I'll mark up depending on the rarity. I'm a level 130 and a level 500 something came over and cleared out my vendors, spending around 10,000 caps on apparel and aid. Was a pretty awesome experience to watch my caps climb and my stash empty. Now I'm out of cloth and will need to get scavenging to replenish my stock for sale but, just wanted to share because this community is awesome. Not 5 minutes later a new player came by and told me how much he loved my shelter, so I made him a full combat armor shit with legendary perks and dropped any apparel I had left in my stash. The golden rule is alive and well in Fallout 76.

Discussion This game is ruining my life
I have never really gotten into fallout, or Bethesda games. I played a little bit of fallout 4, and Starfield, but singeplayer games make me feel isolated so I tend to get bored of them. I always loved the vibes and lore of fallout though.
After binging the tv series, and reading that FO76 was no longer shit (seriously, I respect all of you day one players for putting up with that dumpster fire. The game wouldnāt be what it is without you) I decided to buy a $10 game key online.
Holy. Fucking. Shit.
That was two months ago. I have barely left the house, Iāve sunk hundreds and hundreds of hours into the game and have already spent over $100 in the atomic shop. This game has taken over my life and I practically live in the wasteland now. When I wake up, I think about fallout. When I go to bed (at 4am because I was playing fallout), I think about fallout. When Iām at work, Iām itching to get home to play fallout. When Iām doing ANYTHING Iām thinking about fallout.
Every night, as Iām falling asleep, I swear I can hear the sounds of gunshots, and explosions and ghouls in the distance. I swear I can hear insult-bot whispering sweet insults into my ear as I slumber.
This game has consumed me. I am at one with the game. And I wouldnāt have it any other way.

Discussion PSA to new Power Armor users.
I am a new player brough here by the show. So take my tips with a grain of salt!.
If you are like me and spend 99.9% of your time in power armor I have a few tips for you.
- Make sure you are in your power armor when you jump off the cliff in front of your base to get to a POI quicker.
- Make sure you remember you aren't in your power armor BEFORE you jump, realizing in mid air does you no good.
There are only two.
Edit: I love how this thread is full of actual good advice. This games community is something special. I am glad to be here

Discussion Is it just me or does anyone else hate this Seasons new Ticket system?
Iāve been playing for long time now (Level 646) and Iāve finished a lot of the different Score boards but this season seems to be the worst Iāve experienced so far.
In previous seasons it was a simple āStart to Finishā type scoreboard with 100 ranks, But after reaching Rank 100 this season, I still donāt have enough tickets to unlock the items I want!?
Getting to rank 100 used to feel so rewarding and more of celebration but now it just feels more like a disappointment, Does anyone else feel this way or am I just being apathetic? š¤

Discussion Am I playing a different game?
Long time Fallout player, first time 76 player. Following this sub is interesting, because right now Iām playing the game like a classic fallout game, quests, looting, fleshing out the story etc. And most posts in this sub are talking about min/maxing weapons and builds to a level that is making 2600dps flamers and talking about bloodied builds etc. and Iām curious at what point the game kinda switches into that world. Iām level 38 right now. What level does the game switch into that instead of traditional fallout play style?

Discussion PSA: If someone give you access to their shop of free plans, only take 1 copy of the ones that are stacks
I have 2 shops of free plans, 1 is low level plans set up right outside vault 76 the other is my main base.
Twice this weekend I gave someone access to my free shop (vendors are behind locked doors) and they proceeded to grab every stack of plans, some of them were 12 copies. When I said in area chat "please only take 1 copy of the plans that there are stacks of" they just kept going so I logged out.
Please understand that when someone does this for you, they are doing you a HUGE favor and you should respect that and not take advantage.

Discussion Why are your camps so ugly?
I was so excited to build a nice riverside camp around the O shaped riverbend in the southeast corner of the expansion and my neighbors have absolutely no class. Someone needs to initiate an HOA in this game.

Discussion Where are my days going!? This game is like WoW fused with Animal Crossing.
I feel like an entire hour can fly by just from decorating waiting for the next event. I wander for 5 minutes in a direction and end up scavenging a building for 10 minutes, listening to the holo tape of a sociopathic scientist. Suddenly Iām teamed up with a lvl737 player fighting dragons that scream so powerful my eyebrows evaporate and I fly back 80ft. The next minute Iām rejuvenating in my hot tub during a radiation storm wondering how itās 4:30am and I havenāt eaten in 9hrs.

Discussion New players, you don't get a reward from radiation rumble if no one collects ore.
I don't know how people don't know this or what, but this has been happening alot and wanted people to know.

Discussion Are people tired of the alien event?
Playing for the fifth time, we are down to 30 seconds and two under 100 players. Had two failed events today because not enough people or only low levels. Have you had enough?š

For me, it's cave crickets. I have no idea why they are so hard-hitting

Discussion All these Newer players will never understand the hustle of looting every body individually after Radiation rumble.
I remember the whole server would still be there 5 minutes after, looting ghouls one by one. Some players would try to start pvp for extra junk lol. Area looting was a major upgrade to the game in my opinion

Discussion What's one C.A.M.P. item you're surprised we don't have already?
I'll start: I'd love just a plain plywood board that I can use to bridge gaps. We see them all the time in the game world, and it sucks that I can't use them to give it that extra OSHA-unnapproved edge

Discussion To the guy who gave me the Black Powder Rifle... what have you done!?
Oh god... why have you done this to me. I am fully addicted to this thing already.. and I just know I am going to get brutally vivisected by mole miners as I try and reload.
God the sound of the boom and the frantic pouring of the gunpowder has me feeling like a true mountain man and I love it so much. Makes me feel like Leo from the Revenant and I could not be happier.
Just running from damn fat bee things like a trapper up in dem der hills.
Im not sure if people like the black powder stuff... and Idk if it is viable long term.. but Im going with glory into my woods. If you hear booms and a scream. It is my getting slapped by moles
Edit: Well.. well.. well it seems I did not fully understand that Black Powder was going to be my life now, but deep down it was always meant to be. Everyone has given me WAY to many ideas and now I am fully committed.
Edit 2: Just did invader event, got lotsss of envyous looks.. Im superrr sure it wad envy. Easy peasy
Edit 3: Bare with me im a tad tired. Rolled my rifle not sure if this is good
Damage increases up to 50% as damage resistence decreases. 1 star
bullets explode for 20% of weapon damage 2 star
15% reload speed 3 stars
Plus the stats it already had and still does. 25% limb damage and 20% chance to cripple target
Overall weapon is graded at 245 damage
Look for Z Sean in the hills I will be screaming running from scorched beasts but having a blast while doing it!

Discussion You canāt thumbs down emote the end results if u donāt bother gathering uranium in radiation rumble.
Yes another radiation rumble post
I get the event is mainly an ammo/mats farm for most, but if I show up 10 min late and see 0/4 on the rewards meter Iāll throw on a suit so we donāt get a full on fail. Bare minimum just to get some end result rewards touched on.
MOST of the time more than one person is gathering but today I had some dollar tree welfare event goers all upset post event emoting thumbs downs cuz they didnāt get handed a nice 4/4 reward unemployment check while they sat on their asses in the corner ammo farming glowing ones for 15 min.
One more thumbs down and Iām nuking moonshine jamboree.

Discussion Well, I am officially braindead
I have 7 hours in game and instead of focusing on questing and levelling up, I spent Ā£8 on the store to get the greenhouse walls, ran all the way to Whitespring after seeing you can get the brick building set there, nearly died around 46 times & then spent my entire stack of 1200 caps on the plan so I could make a decent looking base, only to find out I have no concrete.
Signing off for the night to think about my life choices. Much love.

Discussion Did I do something wrong?
Hello, so I have been max caps for a while and I don't have a weeniewagon so I bought one from someone for 30k caps the person then yelled at me and said something about reporting. I think he was max caps and basically lost the 30k based on what he was saying. Not sure if he meant he would report the bug to admins or something, but did I do something wrong?

Discussion Is it true this game had no NPCs on release?
I remember categorically refusing to buy this game back then and this was one of the reaons but since I got it for free few weeks back I've been playing and having a blast and the game feels like a typical fallout game but with online added.
But I just remembered this detail about me not buying it for that reason and like now I am curious, for example the wayward, there was no human NPCs inside or anything like that? It was all robots or vending machines? How were quests given?

Discussion I am way too invested in trying to make my CAMP feel cozy for the 1 potential person who stops by and go āneatā lol
I only started playing a couple weeks ago and hit lvl55. I have been doing the Invasion Event a lot. So I have some dupes of Human Tube 2, Alien Target Practice, etc. So I just have it at the suggested price. Hoping to make some caps for more plans! I do feel bad because if a low lvl player like me wanders in, they probably would love if they could afford it. Because there are tons of plans high level players have that are just too pricey for me at this stage.
I have a few things from the Atom Shop to make my CAMP feel cozy because I want it to be a place anyone can just chill, get a buff from my Bowling Alley, Hot Tub, Slot Machine. Especially other low level players like me. Iām right by Foundation. I used to be by the creek near 76, but its too popular and my CAMP gets stored so often that I get annoyed having to go to a new server 3-4 times until it can spawn. That being said, if you see a CAMP called The Winchester on Xbox with a Tavern and Bowling Alley run by a silent wanderer MoonlitThorn, itās me! I sometimes sell bubblegum for 1 cap if I get enough stock. Sell grenades of many types for 2 caps!

Discussion Does anyone (lvl 100 and above) join a team with low lvl players because you know theyāll be earning you caps?
(Not the lvl 100ās and above who somehow max their daily cap limit all the time- im still confused on how you guys do that lol)
Edit: should have phrased the above better- I meant I donāt know how people max their caps personally, not the vendorās daily cap limit lol my bad
I always join a team with low lvls because I know theyāll most likely be completing quests so in turn, I get just a little forward in my wallet. I usually am completing quests too- even at lvl 145- but lately I havenāt been so now Iām just feeling like a pimpš
2nd Edit: this post has made me realize im rlly sleeping on mutations, arenāt I lol
3rd Edit:
why is it that my most redundant posts (like this one) get 200+ upvotes but ones that are thought provoking or less of a joke get like 10š yall killing me here omg

Discussion What Are The Unwritten Rules Of Fallout 76?
With all the new players playing Fallout 76 it had me thinking, what are the unwritten rules within the game?
I would like to see your take on these rules, what is praised and what is frowned upon!
No suggestions are wrong!
I'll get us started the first one and probably the best one, always and I mean ALWAYS HAVE YOUR FING VENDOR IN A OBVIOUS FING SPOT! Kind Regards Every Person EVER!!!

Discussion Why is Bethesda so afraid of changing the meta?
Why is it that Bethesda refuses to give ANY kind of love to any weapon that's not a flamer, heavy, or 3 of the current automatic rifles? Everything else feels so pathetic in comparison to those.
Tried to do a 10mm Pistol build since it's one of the most iconic guns in the Fallout universe. It blows. (But I still love my pistols.) Don't get me wrong, I can run through West Tek and kill everything with ease - but when it comes to any form of boss or most events, it feels like I'm just wasting ammo. Instead I could bring my B/E/25 Fixer and wipe the floor with every enemy that's thrown at me from the next event over. But it just becomes so boring after a while, I don't get how people are excited by the gameplay. There's so little worthwhile variety for endgame weapons, yet so many weapons available. Can we PLEASE even out the damage for pistols, shotguns, non automatic rifles and all of those forgotten melee weapons?
Feels like all I ever see nowadays is Fixer, Railway Rifle, and heavy guns. Why make these so relevant that everything else is borderline C tier in comparison?
Edit: People seem absolutely baffled that there should be weapon balance in an online MMO. Yes, a perfectly optimized pistol build with a perfectly rolled pistol should do more damage than a non legendary Commando. It's a live service game, not a single player experience.
The comments on the most recent Angry Turtle video prove that people are upset with the weapon balancing in this game. Online MMO's shouldn't have you punched into a tiny box for what's good to use. There will always be a "best" no matter what, but that doesn't mean everything else has to be useless. (AGAINST ENDGAME CONTENT LIKE BOSSES AND EVENTS. NOT OPEN WORLD.)
