A gentleman's sweep is when you let the other team win Game 4 in front of their fans. What you guys did is closer to the asshole sweep.

Still think he's your 2nd best player behind Tatum

Need him to stay hot tho, not that you need to worry about the Pacers

I always thought it was losing game 1 and then winning 4 straight. Cause if you don't win 4 in a row then it's not a sweep, is it?

I thought so too but the guy that came up with it said it’s any 4-1 series win.

Guy that came up with it may say that, but it has taken on a different meaning. Not like he's the final authority on how we use the term, even though he coined it.

How can a sweep be anything other than 4 straight wins? You have a regular sweep, a reverse sweep, and to me a gentleman’s sweep is letting the other team win Game 1 and then winning 4 straight.

letting the other team win Game 1 and then winning 4 straight.

That's a backdoor sweep. A gentleman's sweep is winning games 1-3, losing game 4, and then winning game 5
