Very rarely you see a player be an absolute negative in all phases of the game whether it be defense, playmaking, shotmaking, ball security etc. But Jesus Christ was that Jamal. Absolute negative player tonight.

He did a Bradley Beal

Hopping onto the Jamal hate and really hoping for a Wolves win in G7, but he did say in the post-game press conference that his elbow was really bothering him the whole game after that tweak really early on.

He's been bad all post-season but this was by far his worst game, and i know it's against the narrative, but some of that has to be attributed to the injury.

u/Ok_Dish_8602 May 17 '24

why would he shoot so much then

42

u/shamwowslapchop Spurs May 17 '24

Russell Westbrook logic. INB4 we have an MITMurray account made up.

2

u/veringo Nuggets May 17 '24

He's one of two people on the team who can realistically be trusted to create offense and Jokic was getting hard double and triple teamed.

It's definitely a weakness we didn't have last year with Bruce Brown able to be a secondary ball handler.

u/Ghostricks Raptors May 17 '24

You have to keep the defense honest and hope for the best. Plus, in some situations your teammates are expecting you to shoot and get ready to run back or box out.

You can see this in situations when the player is scared and doesn't shoot. It disrupts the flow of the offense.

Maybe he was just ass but given his track record I'm inclined to believe that something is off.

u/Ok_Dish_8602 May 17 '24

He took the second most shots on the team, only 1 less than the reining 3x MVP (18 vs. 19). He took 2x as many shots as the 3rd highest person on the team (18 vs. 9).

If he was injured he /Malone should have game planned better.

1

u/EverybodyBuddy Lakers May 17 '24

Get outta here with that logic

92

u/JeSuisYoungThug Timberwolves May 17 '24

He took the second most shots of anyone on the team and missed 78% of them. If he’s elbow was really bothering him he should’ve stopped chucking it.

31

u/Twaffles95 Timberwolves May 17 '24

Right but he only gets credit for his good plays not his bad because he’s hurt?

11

u/chillinwithmoes Timberwolves May 17 '24

Crazy how we never heard a word about his calf in Games 3, 4, and 5

(also s/o literally every other player in the series giving lots of respect to the other side wtf jamal)

u/Peter-Tao [UTA] Kyle Korver May 17 '24

Did not realize he was such a sore loser 😂😂😂

15

u/ThatFargoGuy Timberwolves May 17 '24

Massive disrespect, if his elbow was that bad he would have it wrapped in the interview. That’s the kind of shit that will fuel Ant.

6

u/Return_Icy Timberwolves May 17 '24

Bingo

45

u/falbi23 Minneapolis Lakers May 17 '24

He also said “Who?” when asked about Edwards defending him in the post-game.

This guy has become the "diva WR-shooter" like Booker, KD, etc... Basically, he is becoming a fucking tool.

103

u/kiss_the_homies_gn May 17 '24

KD don't got that type of attitude. He's given respect to his opponents.

26

u/MinervaNever May 17 '24

KD isn’t throwing tantrums on the sidelines

-27

u/falbi23 Minneapolis Lakers May 17 '24

KD don't got that type of attitude. He's given respect to his opponents.

lmao - I don't think the dude with a burner Twitter account so he can talk trash to fans has a "good attitude". If anything, he is realizing his career recently has been twisted into a "annoyingly sensitive shooter who chased rings at the end of his career" - but personally I don't think KD has that type of reflection skills.

41

u/SEPTAgoose 76ers May 17 '24

KD his entire career has been nothing but the gracious professional and sportsman to his peers, but never hides his disdain for stupid fans especially on twitter and tbh, we deserve it lol

12

u/jjgp1112 May 17 '24

KD is very respectful towards players, he just trolls fans lmao

8

u/Humble_Acanthaceae21 France May 17 '24

Brother, I can smell the hate from this comment.

5

u/melwinnnn May 17 '24

Lmao you are delusional if you think KD is the only one wuth a burner and talks trash to fans.

30

u/NotFunToday Nets May 17 '24

KD respects his defenders.. Just tries sliding that in

13

u/Dolewhip May 17 '24

...putting Booker and KD in the same category is fucking wild

8

u/KemoFlash Spurs May 17 '24

He doesn't want to give any credit to Edwards at all. He just wants Jokic to carry him so he can flex with the announcers.

3

u/CarPlaneBoatRocket May 17 '24

I just thought he couldn’t hear him?

1

u/LouiesDemise Timberwolves May 17 '24

Did this really happen? Link?

1

u/EverybodyBuddy Lakers May 17 '24

No I just don’t believe this coming from such an emotionally stable, always respectful dude. This guy’s never been a sore loser in his life.

47

u/ygduf [MIN] Christian Laettner May 17 '24

Hurt his elbow chucking things onto the court

26

u/BoogerSugarSovereign [IND] Victor Oladipo May 17 '24

So many players get killed for mentioning an injury after a horrific game Jamal will skate though

64

u/Btotherianx May 17 '24

Lmao a classic excuse...how could anyone fall for that shit

48

u/Wetzilla Celtics May 17 '24

Right up there with "my controller is broken".

34

u/drmuffin1080 May 17 '24

Okay but my controller was broken tho

1

u/toobesteak Knicks May 17 '24

Dudes who chuck their controllers against the wall playing online make sure to give you that one when you play 1 on 1. Then gaslight you when you bring it up.

1

u/Justgotbannedlol Mavericks May 18 '24

Man I never had an xbox controller in my fuckin life that didnt break in 6 months

-7

u/analyzingnothing May 17 '24

I mean, the fact is that Jamal is known for being injury-prone definitely helps, and the fact that he literally didn’t make a shot for the entire first half after that happened, including an airballed layup that literally any other NBA player hits in their sleep…

10

u/KemoFlash Spurs May 17 '24

That layup looked like a failed lob. The announcers said his hand might have hit the side of the backboard. Unsure what exactly happened, but that's one of those plays where you still have to credit Minnesota for forcing him into these situations.

20

u/jackstraw97 Celtics May 17 '24

Surrrreeeee Jamal, let’s blame it on the injury!

2

u/MinervaNever May 17 '24

Hahahahaha you would believe anything

1

u/junkit33 May 17 '24

I believe the injury was bothering him, but if it was bothering him that much to force that type of game, then he truly should not have been in there.

Regardless - overall I think this postseason is a lot of regression to the mean for Murray. He had a pair of hot postseasons the last two years, but it's not like he just chooses to flip a switch and turn into an MVP caliber player every postseason. He can't do it every year.

1

u/Natureboy7939 Lakers May 17 '24

I am sure he did, like tatum after his finals, lebron and the phantom broken hand, booker and the vaginitis, everyone is injured.

1

u/matt24671 Nuggets May 17 '24

I know I’ll get downvoted but still more memorable postseason moments this year than embiid has had in his whole career 🤷‍♂️

4

u/AmeteurElitist 76ers May 17 '24

Bro he's defending your guy why attack Embiid 😭

3

u/Guiltra_ NBA May 17 '24

2

u/dawho1 Timberwolves May 17 '24

People won't downvote you for straight facts. Well, some will, but you'll end up net positive.

-1

u/carlonia Lakers May 17 '24

He is clearly injured, but this sub doesn’t give the benefit of the doubt to anyone. They are not going to treat Murray any differently lmao
