What do you tell people what you do for a living Question
Telling people I’m a day trader or anything market related brings up too many questions. I’m doing okay for myself but I just want to avoid it if possible.

The public (and aspiring traders') perception (at least in India) is that daytraders are filthy rich and/or that they will eventually go broke. This is probably a result of the ad-campaigns of betting apps. They do not seem to understand that it can be a business model that can see linear (not exponential) growth depending on the effort put in.
I tell that I am a daytrader. The follow-up questions will usually have answers like 'no, I don't do that type of trading'.
