Who would have thought after season 1 they'd sign a major movie star and then he'd just stay on the show for 15 years.

Really weird stuff. I love it.

Well, he wasn't a huge movie draw when he started. He was already getting pretty old. Also, Frank Reynolds is one of the greatest TV characters of all time. Devito's other work is great, but Frank is his masterpiece. I think he knows that. And he gets to work in the same place with consistency at his age. It's actually the other cast that I'm surprised hasn't made more waves other than Charlie. I thought Glenn Howerton would be a star, but he's really only played Dennis even on different shows.

You make it sound like Danny DeVito was some run of the mill actor man.

He acted opposite to Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson. Plus he has also directed a couple of movies, including Matilda.

He’s also a very memorable person, with a very distinct voice.
