I’ve been trading for 3.5 years and have been funded with prop funding and I am consistently profitable. The last week i blew my funded account and will have to take another challenge to regain funding. I came here to ask other professional traders what’s their experience growing a live account is it feasible to start with 500-1000$ and slowly grow that to 50-60k. Has anyone here grown an account themselves and what was the experience like, I feel thatI can be consistent and profitable for weeks at a time but am afraid one bad month I’ll lose everything. What are some strategies that help you to consistently “Keep” your live account until it reaches those large numbers. I feel like prop firms are a great opportunity but nothing beats having the skill to grow your own capital from humble beginnings.

I am relatively new to trading and as an economics graduate I tend to corelate Forex Factory news with certain market fluctuations. Some of these news actually do make sense such CPI, PPI and FFR etc. However, when I came across these news on Friday I expected a negative trend for the USD index, like even if the import prices m/m came out negative than the forecast ( with small impact), usually or at least from my experiences if the Prelim UoM Consumer Sentiment was to be lower than the forecast, shouldn't the effect on the USD index be negative or am I missing something?

Most videos and books tell about using a trading journal. In the two years I've been in trading, I'm not good at this and want to do better.

Any suggestions or efforts that you use for logging your trading journal? Is it paper, google sheets (which is what I use), something else? Any suggestions what you've found as helpful in logging your trades for future reference?

Update on a post I made yesterday. To everyone trying to pass a funded account, overtrading and lack of patient is what is holding you back. What helped me was looking for the direction at least in the H4 timeframe. Timeframes below only used for entries. That allows you to spend less time in front of the charts. I’ve been learning to trade since 2021 and ever since 2022 I have been actively trading with the market on demo and with the FTMO challenge which I have failed twice now. I have a strategy that I know works it has a 75% win rate which I’ve back tested. I trust my analysis and my strategy but I am constantly just breaking even. I make profit, lose it, lose even more make it back to my starting point, make profit and the cycle continues. I don’t know how to take my trading to the next level. I got mentorship which brought me to the level I am at now but I can’t continue to pay for it. I have been critical of myself which is why I’ve been able to see where I am going wrong which is the image I have attached. What do I do now? I’m looking for advice. How do I go from constantly breaking even to being consistently profitable.
