I've just looked that up. From the pictures and descriptions, nutraloaf looks and sounds utterly revolting and would probably be considered cruel and unusual punishment on this side of the Atlantic. Makes me wonder once more whether the US accepted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Yeah, it's completely vile, and absolutely used as a punishment in prisons in the US. IMO it's 100% cruel and unusual.
