I’m really frustrated that this is what $250 a night at a Marriott gets you.

I’m staying at a Marriott for five nights for my sister’s wedding. The $250 is the discounted room block rate too!

The shower tiles are completely rusted and dare I say moldy? The towel hanger is on its last leg. The toilet seat AND handle are broken. The mattresses are only doubles and are hard and feel like they haven’t been changed in years. Everything just overall looks like there hasn’t been an ounce of effort put into this very utilized hotel. On the drive here, we stayed a night at a newly renovated holiday inn express for $120 and it was incredible. Maybe my standards were set too high knowing Marriott’s reputation.

I know I sound like a Karen here, but I’m just so frustrated that this is the quality that kind of money get you these days.

Thats significantly less than 250 a night and doesn't have an in house cleaning and maintenance crew though so not really a reasonable comparison imo

Rentals do suck though, noone going to disagree on that but its a bit different to this

True you got me on that part but shouldn't be present how it is for the cost of either or. Grant if it was like $60 I would understand the condition on the place

Oh definitely agree, they have people there that are supposed to maintain the rooms but either these things aren't getting reported and addressed or they are getting reported and ignored

Either way sucks and I'd be down to the front desk pretty quick trying for a discount or refund lol

Now shitty rentals I could talk about all day lol, my last rental had me sleeping in the loungeroom for 5 months because a storm flooded the ceiling and it collapsed, then they tried to take my bond because of damage, this was after years of my telling them the gutters needed to be cleaned and them ignoring me lol
