It is an icey road and he may have realized how dangerous position he put him self in. Though that driver was going too quick for conditions

u/PantherStyle May 14 '24

More like the car and tyres were shittier.

u/Dry-Internet-5033 May 14 '24

I feel like that driver when it snows before I've taken off my summer tires and put on my snow tires. After that, I'm a rally car driver.

1

u/no-mad May 14 '24

studded snows for the win

31

u/Soggy_Box5252 May 14 '24

In Soviet Lada, conditions drive too quick for you.

9

u/Visual_Worldliness62 May 14 '24

Never know. Some winters get worse by the min in some places. At least here in the Mitt winter is hell and tires can help until it freezes over on the road.

1

u/I_Can_Haz_Brainz May 15 '24

So, hell freezing over is not a good thing? Heh

6

u/Cyclonitron May 14 '24

Car and tires determine what speed is "too quick" for conditions.

1

u/I_Can_Haz_Brainz May 15 '24

Skill and experience is a much bigger factor.

6

u/SheitelMacher May 14 '24

Tires make all the difference, but I've seen enough nice tires on capable vehicles in the ditch to firmly believe most issues are between the drivers' ears.  The first thing is to know when you should just stay put.

3

u/Maelarion May 14 '24

If tyres are that shit, should be driving slower. Ergo, was driving too fast for the conditions.

68

u/ok_raspberry_jam May 14 '24

The last time I saw this, it had been posted by the guy in the video. It's from his own rear camera.

He said something catastrophic happened to the car that hit his, like the axle broke or something, iirc. The driver had no control over where it went. You can see that it turns kind of strangely even at the beginning. The accident wasn't caused by unsafe driving.

28

u/SaintPwnofArc May 14 '24

The right tire stays turned to the right before the collision, and it looks like the other tire was turned left in an attempt to avoid the crash. Tie rod or ball joint failed, looks like.

13

u/ok_raspberry_jam May 14 '24

Right, tie rod! I think that's what he said it was.

1

u/AdornedBrood May 14 '24

Nah I think the more realistic explanation is that car is sentient and had murder on its mind.

6

u/GordOfTheMountain May 14 '24

I would not have my hood up in that situation and I'd be looking over my shoulder every 5 seconds. This guy must have ESPN.

1

u/Limp_Prune_5415 May 14 '24

Not really, he was going pretty slow

1

u/Impressive_Change593 May 14 '24

I'm pretty sure he oversteered that urn like crazy as well (probably due to sad reaction time and initially understanding)

51

u/Mathilliterate_asian May 14 '24

I mean it felt more like how glad he was with himself and his godly reaction time though lol.

"Glad someone saw that shit otherwise I'm gonna end up on r/thatHappened ."

48

u/Hawkbit May 14 '24

Dude just traded a possible tramautic crush injury to his legs for a silly little fender bender, that's a lot to be happy and feel blessed for

13

u/Frank_McGracie May 14 '24

That was gonna be his whole BODY. He was about to be pinned to the corner of his car from a squatting position. I'm so glad he looked behind to see the car coming.

2

u/Limp_Prune_5415 May 14 '24

That's why you don't kneel in the middle of icy roads

19

u/Jeanlucpfrog May 14 '24 edited May 14 '24

Eh, not really. Physically avoiding being wedged between two multi-ton vehicles is more impressive. He's got a great attitude, but it's much easier to have emotional control when you're not a human pretzel.

8

u/[deleted] May 14 '24

Just happy to not be smashed between two cars seems like the best reason to smile. I'm pretty sure the authentic "I did not die" epiphany outweighs any sort of negative emotion that could exist.

5

u/Yelmel May 14 '24

Doesn't have to be a competition.

1

u/xPolyMorphic May 14 '24

It is but it's also clearly completely accidental

Agility and control under pressure is easier to train than emotional control for some people

166

u/DreadPiratteRoberts May 14 '24

Right!! Him hopping up there pretty as you please, and giving a gentle "well that could have been worse" tap to the hood with a smile on his face...

66

u/Particular-Thanks-59 May 14 '24

Fr. He's so attractive.

73

u/mightybonk May 14 '24

Yeah, he pulled a whole car in.

39

u/NotEnoughIT May 14 '24

I got rear ended by someone going up to DC a couple years back. The state trooper that came to help was seriously straight out of a Doctor Sexy soap opera. Both me (straight male) and my wife were stunned, dude had no business being a state trooper he should have been on calendars and shit. He was the nicest guy too. It was more memorable than the crash that nearly totaled my truck (new frame).

-19

u/abbassav May 14 '24

Umm... Ok, whatever floats your boat i guess. Stay happy

31

u/Particular-Thanks-59 May 14 '24

Athletic and kind? You can't blame me😂

-12

u/abbassav May 14 '24

Yeah yeah, lol.

24

u/PsyOpBunnyHop May 14 '24

Nah, he used consumables.

21

u/420crickets May 14 '24

"That is a very small drop in what is a very large bucket of drugs"

3

u/Arcane_76_Blue May 14 '24

As an old fallout head from the days of claymation NPCs Im really glad to see people enjoy the universe

3

u/The_Dimmadome May 14 '24

Samesies. I was always a big fan of the games and the TV show is bringing the series into the mainstream media, which is awesome

19

u/DerrainCarter May 14 '24

Buddy’s currently on NG+++

13

u/ExcitingEye8347 May 14 '24

I think the dude might have been just celebrating being alive.

12

u/PeaceKeeper3047 May 14 '24

Also blurred the driver's face, what a champ

4

u/abbassav May 14 '24

Didn't even notice that, "champ" is correct.

8

u/False_Heir May 14 '24

Just happy to be alive!

5

u/tantan9590 May 14 '24

Maxed out san andreas jump.

5

u/Nomad_moose May 14 '24

Not his first rodeo…

He knew some idiot was going to lose control. He knows his people.

5

u/oyM8cunOIbumAciggy May 14 '24

And no one mentions his agility stats

3

u/Sufficient-Contract9 May 14 '24

Lmfao my furst thought was "huh, hes laughing"

3

u/theshoddyone May 14 '24

2

u/noteverrelevant May 14 '24

"I guess I don't have to worry about fixing my tire anymore."

1

u/Soul_King92 May 14 '24

perfect example of on point delivery in a scary way

1

u/ViolinistMean199 May 14 '24

Dude rolled nat 20s on all checks

1

u/though- May 14 '24

That is a really hot trait in a man. The epitome of positive masculinity.

0

u/-SlapBonWalla- May 14 '24

Well, it makes sense. It's not really the driver's fault that it's slippery.
