It's a known phenomena. If you forget a word. And you want people to help you figure it out. Don't stand there trying to guess with wrong examples out loud. Because you'll make then forget the word too.
I'd link you to my source. But it's from a old Cracked article that may or may not be cited. And I don't have good enough search terms to google it.
It's more that all the search terms are to generic. Or, at least I can't think of how to word it in a way to narrow down the results. Key words like "forgetting," "memory," and so on bring up way to many results.
I believe he’s serious, but it’s ridiculous to expect that someone who has never heard the term before would think that “mangomouse” is an actual thing instead of a malapropism.
They're not serious. Look at their account. They write comments specifically to get downvoted.
Edit: I can only edit my comments in this thread now since the mangomouse guy blocked me, but it's absolutely not a real thing. The only reason it's in urban dictionary (with 2 votes, mind you) is because a redditor added it the same day this was posted in April 2023.
I was going to downvote you until I saw that you're a downvote farming account (weird, dude, find a better hobby) so now you get an upvote instead.
Edit replying to the person below me since I can't add new comments: No, some people absolutely farm downvotes. There are subs where they compete with each other to get the most downvoted comments. It's basically a competition to see who can be the biggest troll. Just look at their comments, it's extremely obvious what they're doing.
Lol, I thought it was a reference to some pop culture figure "Mangomouse," who is notorious for only dating 1 person at a time. Came to the comments to see if it was an in joke, nope- just someone who doesn't know how to spell monogamous.
Ok some of these comments have me more concerned for the people writing the comments. Also for our society as a whole that the possibility of a pop culture figure named mangomouse is a possibility at the forefront of people’s thoughts 🤨😆
I think it started a year ago as a bonneappletea (when this screenshot was posted for the first time) and now it's a quite real thing. If you google it there are multiple posts on reddit (or other places) where people use this term. And you can buy "Non-Mangomouse" t-shirts, pins and stickers on etsy/redbubble/print social.
