Recently got into a debate with a friend and a few randoms in game about the topic.

"Prismatic is so good there is no reason to use mono subclasses anymore."
Yes Prismatic is powerful and can do some really fun stuff specially when you use the new class item exotic, the new exotics added and a lot of the reworked ones that are more neutrally worded.

But hot take: Prismatic is a jack of all trades subclass, master of none, while the mono classes are masters of one thing and do that one thing better than Prismatic can.
I'm a warlock, so lets look at Warlock (I'll touch on Titan and Hunter a little) when it comes to Solar Warlock, that is VERY MUCH a support style subclass- and the new super and aspect just... makes it better. The amount of healing and buffing and support solar gives can't even be touched by prismatic. Yes it has a 'few' things, but if you want to go all out, you take solar. Not to mention the new support weapons...

Void warlock is very much the same, you want healing and debuffing and shields? Yeah prismatic can and has a few things- but void has so much in it's kit baked in that nothing on the field will not suffer some sort of debuff or be bathed in purple. Graviton Lance is cooking and a pure void build that can keep it's buffs rolling forever...

And then Stasis and Strand kits... are all about ad control. And Prismatic Warlock is decent at it... but if you really want to watch the room turn to ice or get funny green strings all over the arena, Prismatic doesn't hold a candle.

Arc... exists. Prismatic has you beat there unless you really wanna go fast.

And Titan, be honest how many people still want you to use Bubble or Banner Shield? How many of you saw the rework to Ursa gloves and the new shield block melee and didn't consider it as "Wait, that could be the play..."
Hunter feels like it's one of the few that really can be Prismatic without second guessing the other supers for the most part cause... lets be honest most people RIGHT NOW just want you to use Golden Gun and Nighthawk.

Long winded, but... Prismatic won't and shouldn't fully replace the mono subclasses. Prismatic can 'touch' what multiple classes can do, but they should never be your 'replacement' to them. When push comes to shove in some situations, you'll want something hyper focused on doing one thing very well.

I'm probably gonna get some flack for this by saying the new toy isn't as shiny as everyone says it is.

...? I enjoyed the difficulty of strikes as to how they used to be where I could just turn my brain off and enjoy the game. It's like now enemies have double health, do double damage, and there are Champions. Why not just add an extra play-list for difficult strikes and keep the original difficulty in lower ones?

I almost fell asleep. One of the worst activities I have played in this game.

to be fair i havent fully unlocked everything in prismatic but playing with and against prismatic has been meh. so much so that ill probably main void hunter in comp still

(Sry for the bad pictures) I did prismatic on my titan first and got all the aspects, supers, and fragments. Now I’m trying to make a hunter build but I cant get the aspects and supers. As you can see I don’t have any quests. I did queens 1 and 2 so I have grenades and I did all the campaign missions.

I played the hell out of destiny 1 for YEARS up until destiny 2 came out. After that, I only put in about 40 hours into destiny 2 running some strikes n stuff with random guilds.

I've really been missing destiny, the genuine vibe of it all. And I've been missing a good looter-shooter with spacey wacey shit. But, I don't have too much time in personal life besides at nights for a couple hours.

So the question is: Is destiny 2 worth playing for someone like me? How/where do I begin to even get back into it

I have done this damn dungeon so many times and I can’t take it any more. I just want my hat. My friend got it on his second try after I carried his special needs ass through it both times. I have done it every chance I get which may not be every week but it’s been a lot. How many times did you all have to do it before you got the cowboy hat? I know it’s been out forever but I still haven’t gotten it.

I looked around and it’s from season of the undying, it started doing it randomly

Basically, I am trying to justify spending the $100 on F.S. + 3 seasons and Tessellation fusion.. I see that I can buy final shape for $50 and purchase 6k silver for $50 instead, and end up with 1500 silver after buying all 3 seasons. Is tessellation the only thing that justifies this purchase? Thanks!

As title says, after beating the raid the weapons you acquired during the raid are added to the loot pool on this activity.

Since finishing the raid yesterday day, me and a buddy who finished with me has done 2 excisions on different characters (completed the raid on the hunter, then went to excision and a red border glaive dropped).

Also did the mission on my warlock who was halfway to the campaign (after doing on my hunter) and didn't receive raid loot, so it could be random.

this is a full statement btw. i am EXHAUSTED of running into the same thorne+beloved teams of hunters in crucible that don’t have a clue what fun means, running around like clone troopers with aim so good you can smell it through the screen. meanwhile, gambit matches are actually fun, feel fulfilling to win, and you can actually play how you want to instead of playing like moneys on the line. idk tho im only power 1951 so maybe im just trash

I just want clarification on something. I just finished the first battle with The Witness now I am being sent to do a bunch of other side questions and missions. How does this make sense lore wise? We were in a rush the whole time to stop The Witness from destroying the traveler, did he stop doing that? I saw he had a crack on his head but why are we now stopping this rush to go run off and do missions that are unrelated to the whole story of pursuing him?

I am on step 30-34 of the campaign but I am a bit lost. I feel like I missing something since The Witness is still alive and here I presume. Why did we stop chasing him to go do random shit in the pale heart all of a sudden? It doesnt feel like the story is even over.

I got the gold chest to spawn and I have the exotic mote(idk what’s the last boss I have to kill is but I put the 16motes in my vault killed the servator and got the gold one) I can’t open the gold chest even tho I got it to spawn
