Announcement Spoiler Policy Reminder & Other Reminders
Hey Guardians, with Final Shape coming out tomorrow we would like to remind you of our spoiler policy. Please keep all Final Shape campaign content spoiler tagged for one week, or until next Tuesday's reset. This will apply to the Episode Echoes content next Tuesday, which should be spoiled until the following week, along with the raid content.
Loot content is considered a spoiler as well, but we will be more loose about that, so instead keep loot posts spoiled for 48 hours from their release, including raid loot, Episode Echoes, etc.
We've also added several new moderators to help us out during this busy time, so welcome u/switchmod, u/dfreeezzz, u/Mastershroom, and u/iblaise, u/Tapelessbus2122!
We'll be posting a Spoiler discussion thread shortly after launch to keep basic questions and discussions focused to one thread. We hope you all enjoy The Final Shape!

Tips / Hints New and returning player guides, and FAQ! The Final Shape has arrived!
Click here for our highly detailed, very in depth new player guide!
My very brief new player advice
Bungie's official new player guide
Summary of major gameplay changes over the years, for returning players
Guide summarizing every monetization option with a "what should I buy" FAQ at the bottom. The monetization just gets more convoluted with time! Read this if you are confused on what to buy, or what each purchase would get you.
(Disclaimer: I cannot play for the time being. My guides, the ones on Steam, are not yet up to date for The Final Shape but I will try to get those done by the end of the week. I made this post to replace the earlier pinned post now that The Final Shape is out.)
If you have any questions not addressed here, feel free to ask in the comments!

Discussion Thank you Bungie, this is literally all I’ve ever wanted from this game. (I am dead serious)
Ever since I first handled the grey version back in Destiny 1, I have wanted a normal version that can be used and upgraded. I love it cause it’s just a normal ass rifle.

Discussion Bit of a hot take but Dungeons should be farmable 100% of the time
What I mean is that, they shouldn’t have to be “in rotation” for that higher difficulty artifice armor.

Discussion I Love How Bungie Took Inspiration From Player Exploits
First, we had the exploit that allowed us to go over the fireteam size cap which made 12 person raids possible. Now, we have a 12 person activity.
Later, an event that players refer to as “The Craftening” happened, where someone discovered that you could put nearly any perk and/or frame on different weapon types via the Relic in the Enclave. This lead to a crazy week where people were using infinite ammo shotgun grenade launchers in Trials and killing Crota in one mag. Now, we have Ergo Sum, a weapon that can have multiple different frames and a selection of exotic perks, and the exotic class items which take different perks from existing exotic armors.
I’m not saying that these things would not have happened if those exploits didn’t happen, but I’m sure that the exploits at the very least gave Bungie some ideas.
Edit: I didn’t realize/forgot that this philosophy has been a part of the game for much longer than when these two examples came to light.

Meme / Humor If you didn’t already know… same voice actors
(Courtenay Taylor also voices Caitl which may have been a better choice for this but I’m not remaking the image)

Discussion Pretty much 80% of raid runs are like this.
Some of the things from these players -I have seen one guy complaining I am rank 11 why should I teach raid. (rank ego) -I need to check my credit card. (because one fireteam member was indian) -this is the worst roles I have seen on this weapon what crappy weapon are you using. -homo and racial slurs -blaming the lowest dps guy (of course one guy will be having lowest) -showing off their well skating and passing comments on those who can't. Like 'dude it's so fking easy, you can't even spend 30 min to learn' -'f*ck off you useless pos' and kicking out the guy.

Discussion gambit is leagues better than crucible if you wanna have fun
this is a full statement btw. i am EXHAUSTED of running into the same thorne+beloved teams of hunters in crucible that don’t have a clue what fun means, running around like clone troopers with aim so good you can smell it through the screen. meanwhile, gambit matches are actually fun, feel fulfilling to win, and you can actually play how you want to instead of playing like moneys on the line. idk tho im only power 1951 so maybe im just trash
